These are some good batteries but you can get them cheap on e-bay.

Im not sure about the new H8's that come with Novak esc's, but the stock electronics on the older H8's cant handle an 8 cell pack unless you get a kyosho pack that has a Battery Protection Unit.



In the picture it looks like the Battery Protection Unit plugs in between the ESC and battery so maybe all you need is one kyosho battery so you can use the Battery Protection Unit with other packs.

HERE are some 6cell packs you should be able to use without harming your esc. I think they come with the correct battery plugs.
