I am very new to rc and have a couple questions. What are some good basic upgrades for the MI and how will they effect performance?

    thanks

    Hey mate,
There are a number of hopups which will make a big difference.

Ball bearings will help a lot. it will result in a smoother driveline.
I found the standard plastic pieces to have a lot of play.

Next you'll want to upgrade the suspension, oil shocks make a big difference in the handling too. it will run better on bumpy terrain very good!

Next there is the 9.6 volt battery pack, its a 1400mah or 1200mah intellect battery pack. these help a lot even on the standard motor

Before going brushless, the last choice is to get either a graupner 400 6v motor or else a xspeed motor, these will give much better performance than the standard motor. the graupner 400 6 volt motor is cheaper too!

thanks, i have some more questions though.
What kind of bearings should i get (brand, full set, shielded, etc.)? What weight of shock oil would work best all around?

    hey there,
Brand wise, the bearings won't matter that much. Say either 3 racing or gpm ones would be suffice.
Oil weight, around 30-35weight would be good.

I will have some spare hopups if your interested

    Email me on tt01demon@gmail.com

I've got a writeup coming soon on my web site in my signiture about the hopups and which ones are better than others

    Thanks
    Adrian

Give us ya email and i'll send some pics of what i have.

I'd personally be going towards the graupner 400 6v. its cheaper. about $12us or about $18 australian

    Thanks

I am not really for this. There are people with alot of gold. They would just let the other players grind, and buy the cards from them. So they get the upgrades and they have done nothing.
