so im guessing you went and bought a tap and the screws and sat for like 1 hour.

...nope...3mm will screw into most parts no problem...the only part i redrilled was the 3R motor mount to take the motor (2.6mm -> 3mm) and the holes on the chassis...Which i do now for clients anyway...BTW a 3mm hole works GREAT with a 6.5mm bit to make the heatsink basically you multiple the hole by TWO and ADD 0.5
what??? srry i dont get itOriginally Posted by BitHed

A good "trick" for tapping is to make a tapping block.
Most of the 3R suspension stuff like the pin holders are setup up for 2.5mm screws. You can just run them in and put threads in the holder on the way in or you can ream (or drill if that is your way) the holes to clear the 3mm screws.
I drilled the holes in the motor mount for 3mm screws setup for the Aon 2415-4900. I changed to a Hyperion 5000kv and it fit fine because that one has two different mount hole sets to pick. I put an X-Speed in the mount and the 2.5mm screws worked just fine. I had to use flush head 2.5mm screws with it and all was good.

I just use a drill press or the mill to make sure it is straight. Didn't think I would see one of those on this board.
i dont like drill presses... had one almoast take my finger off. im glad the glove seam was weak... if it had been made strong... *shiver*
