Default will the speed 480 motor fit

i have fitted a speed 480 race motor in my rc18t.. it has crazy speed now,, almost comparable to he mamba 8000.

since the mini inferno comes with a 400 can motor do you guys think there is enough room for the speed 480 motor,, ,, and this motor with 8 cells rocks,, im currently using 24t/55t with both 8 and testing 10 cells is insane,

    It comes with a 380, not 400.

the 480 is roughly 50mm long. How does that compare to the stock can?

hkopium-- from what i have experienced,, the 380 size is about the same if not the same size as the 400 can,, not much difference,,, the 380 is definaetly bigger than the 370 that is for sure,, 370 is like a 300can and the 380 is like 400 can,,, bu it sure would be nice and fast to have the speed 480 bb with a large pinion in that half 8,,, speeds would be equal to that of the mamba

    hello guys,

Well, the 480 DOES fit, but with some modifications :
    - head of the motor (turn upside down one of the brush holder),
    - steering system (I've used a contersunk screw, a servo horn, some aluminium washer and some ball bearings to replace the original part and to make enough room for the motor to fit),
    - motor mount,

Easy-to-diy modifications in fact, I've test-run it against a mamba'd mini-T and it rocks... The only worrying point is... the slipper, which i have to strenghened to allow the power to pass through, but top speed is OVER a mamba 6800 with 11 tooth motor pinion for the losi and 21 (yes, 21 !) for mine on the streight (just to give you an idea of how fast it is)... Second worrying point is that with GP 1100 (6 cells), you can only run for 5 minutes...

Some photos to be added soon, once I've tested it on a real off-road track !

Grosquick, if it's posible, after test, tell us about motor heat. Perhaps it gets less hot than a mamba.

    Hello,

Yes, it does stay cool enough ! no comparison with baja or other stuff when i runned my own mini-T...

Seems like we are running into runtime issues. 1100 mah may not be enough for these motors.
