Is the Mamba 8000 overkill for the half eight? or will it be just right..since it has to displace power going to all four wheels

Well I would just think that you would want to use a BIGGER motor...The mamba is really small in the H8 and heats up quickly. I guess people have been using them though...If you haven't bought anything yet spend the extra 20$ and get a AON 4900 with a mamba 25 esc. Thats just my preference though...

The 4900 is meant for the H8. You can gear it higher and not worry about heat issues. It also has tons of torque. It can be very fast with the correct gearing and batts.

I agree with BLAKHAWK444 !! I used Mamba 8000 motor , but I got not thing but problems!! the first thing will be heat peoblem !! you will over heat the motor and ESC !! You better go get a bigger motor like Aon because it have more torque. However the Mamba 8000 motor is more high rpm motor and mean for lighter car like mini-T!! So do not use Mamba 8000 motoer !!
