had a few ?'s about brushless.

1) IS THERE A BREAK IN POCEDURE FOR BL MOTORS
2) DO BL MOTORS HAVE LONGER LIFE?
3) DO THEY NEED MAINTENANCE?
4) ARE REPLACEMENT PARTS MADE AVIALABLE
5) HOW DO I MAKE A MOTOR LAST ITS LONGEST, AND/OR PERFORM IT'S BEST

thanks for looking, feel free to add any info.

1) no there is no break in process
2)yes they have way longer life if you dont overheat them
3)if you have a closed endbell (meaning no holed in them like the mamba and aon) no you will not have much maintance. other than oiling the bearings every now and then. but nothing like a brushed motor.
4)there is nothing that really needs ot be replaced. besides bearings when they wear out. and you can get thoes anywhere.
5) dont over gear it and give it some good power from some nice batteries and you will be happy.

hope that helps

1: No, because there are no brushes - just mount it and go.

2: There are no brushes that wear off, so they should have ;)

3: Not really. Clean them from time to time and maybe put a little drop of oil to the bearing. Thats all.

4: Depends on what motor you use. Some (like the mamba) are not meant to be opend and there are afaik no parts available. The more expensive the motor, the bigger the chance that there are spare parts. But most of the time you wouldnt need any.

5: Pray to the motor-god :D
Seriously: Dont use too less/ too many cells, run the right pinions (not too many teeth) and mesh it right, use big and short wires, keep your motor cool and clean it from time to time.

Hope that helped a little.

BL is the future and it is bringing back electric in a big way.

You got that right. 1/8 scale next. The motor is there, just need to work out the battery issue. Lipo almost makes it viable. It is just those darn 45minute A mains.
Maybe a fast change battery pack setup would do it! :)
