O ronny I have a few off half 8 topic questions
1 What do you think is better honestly
mugen top buggy or kyosho mp777 sp 3
and motor wise RB or sirio :D
mat3833
02-20-2006, 11:07 PM
my personal opinion, never owned either engine, but driven the same buggy with a siro and an RBC in it i liked the RB better. the rb needed lighter clutch shoes but when it was set up my lap times were like 1.5 faster. the RB had a little less top end(could have geared higher tho) but bottom and mid was sick!!! the siro just couldnt keep up in the tight sections.

Hey bug-boy :D
1.HANDS DOWN, No compromise - RB CONCEPT engines RULEs over all!
The thing that you need to fix your clutch-shoes, is bull! No pun intended!
I have ALWAYS used std shoes & springs, and my engines/cars goes like a bullet.
2.TIE; you would win with both cars. The Mugen takes more beating -
and the Kyosho shines when it's getting SERIOUSLY TOO bumpy. The Mugen is a more "direct" car, and keeps very good speed on the whole track.
This is 100% honest :)
I hope this helps you out ;)

YAY!!! ronnys back! LOL glad to have ya back man. how did you do in the races?
Matt
Hi Matty :)
Thanks :D Regarding the race, there where 164 contenders, and I managed to qualify in 32 position, which is the 1/4 final. Unfortunatly I have some bad luck at the start of the race, missing lap-counting in round 1, due to carbon-fiber side-plates/mud-guards,. second round my front Torsen diff broke, giving my only 2.wd, but managed to get a 9.lap / 5.o2 seconds with that.
In round 3, I hit the magic number, 10 lapper, as this was the pace you would need to be by the 40 fastest guys. In round 4, the track was SUPER-bumpy, but managed identical time as is round 3, a 10 lapper, 5.32 sec. It was only 17 driver managing to get a 10 lapper in round 4, so it was all good, and I was fast.
In the 1/4 final, I had starting position 8 out of 12, and shot of at the buzzer. I immitiatly went up to 3 position, and then I got tangeled with another driver, taking me down to last position in the final. Then, I was fighting myself up again, only to be flipped and then mis.placed (on the roof) THREE TIMES but the mashall  And to make things even worse, while batteling for the forth position, and then move up to the semi-final in the last 10 seconds of the final, a mashall was cleaning up a pile of cars 10 meters before the finishing-line, I saw my chance, blow by 2 cars moving ahed to pass the pile-up, DOING! Out of nowhere, the marhall that was cleaning up the pile, firmly put his foot down, smack - I hit right into him, he did not notice - totally blocking me until he had cleaned up, then he "saw" I was suck on his foot, and actually stopped, he took my car and RUN it over the finishing-line to get me the last count, but of course I diden't get that last round as I diden't drive over. So, that's the race for you. My next race is this weekend/sunday, and it's our annual WINTER-race, with -10 degrees CELSIUS!!

ronny- that sounds like the luck i had this past weekend.
also i have a question about my rb. when i used it for the 1st time is ran fine. then i pulled the carb off to rtv it so i wouldnt have any air leaks. now every time i run the motor after im done for the day the hole chassis is coveredwith fuel residue. i have chaned carbs to see if maby it was the carb that was causeing the problem but it is not and it is still leaking. any tips you may have come across to help me with this problem ?
Ronny
02-21-2006, 05:32 PM
Hi bro:-)
Sorry, no I haven't actually - just check that your front bearing isen't leaking, and check that you have pressed the carb sufficient down in the throwt!
Hope that helps

Rb with stock shoe set up? Hummm, spill the beans what is the trick? are you tuning the standard RB super rich bottom end ( loads up in 5 seconds and needs constant blipping)or something different? I want over to EB mods P5 because I couldn't get the bottom end smoothness out of my S7
BiGRoB21
02-21-2006, 05:40 PM
ronny- i will have to look into the front bearing leaking cause my carb is pressed down a good bit? will the bearing have to be replaced if its the front bearing? i have only run this motor 3 times.

Ronny, if you are looking for a grease that won't fly off the gears try Mugen's Super Grease I have it in my center diff and I haven't had any problems with it flying off the gears.
Ronny, or someone, is this grease still produced? Where can I get my hands on this stuff? I need it, as I just purchased my first KMI, which Bit, I need a pitbull chassis for, as it came with a GPM chassis, which I know sucks.
So where can I get my hands on this Mugen Seiki Super grease?

Hey Auto :)
After your engine has reached it's working temp, about 115 degrees Celsius / around 240 degrees Farenheit, you run hard, then quickly come to a stop right before your feet holding in the brakes. Then LISTEN!! Your idle should stay on the same pitch/tone/sound without "dropping" from, like - taaa-taaaa-taaaa-taaaa TO da - da - da - da -da. IF it "drops" before 15 seconds have gone, it's too RICH, adjust 3-4 minutes IN on the low-speed needle and listen/re-run it again. Do this until the idle stays rock steady for 15 seconds.
That's the ticket ;)
auto2
03-03-2006, 01:51 AM
well without a doubt it was way too rich. I understand what your saying. problem was if I did set it up as you say it would fall on it's face 1/2 way through the race. loose all bottom end and not sound right. still had "normal" top end.
I had mugen 1.1's with black shoes drilled 2 holes. this was 2 years ago so I'm trying to remember. I think I had a temp guage back then that was 50 dergrees too low. so 250 was actually 300. so I probablly had the top end too lean and compensated with a rich bottom. I'll tell you one thing I do remember it had a fantastic top end.LOL! many a turn at the end of the straight I blew through cause I was mesmerised listening to it rev up.LOL!

What's up guys? Haven't been here in a while. Ronny shoot me an email I have a few questions for you :D. I run a WS7II and it's got a good 6 gallons through it now. Still plenty of balls. I run Mugen carbons with Xray 1.0 springs. On the question about what car is better, they are both excellent cars as Ronny said. The Kyosho is amazing because it's so easy to pick up and drive, as the harder it's pushed the faster it is. Not the same case with the Mugen, it takes a bit more finesse but can be faster. Same with the Xray. Xray is putting up a pretty good showing in Europe with the signing of Hazelwood, and Yannick has been doing really well too. Ronny sorry to hear about your troubles :(. It sucks to get taken out by the marshall.

Hey man :)
YEAH YEAH YEAH, I got a NEW FAVORITE CAR!!!!!!!!
This thing is SUPER-COOL - WAY cooler than ANYTHING I own, now and ever.
It's quit fast, has a two needle carburator for sweet acceleration, and a 2 speed as option for only 19.95$ Hello, do I need to say more, he he.. It's not as fast as the Nitro H8 with it's Sirio from what I can see from the Kyosho video, but hey, a engine swap to a Sirio should be a breeze when released - or with the optional two-speed and the original engine it will be faster then what I saw of the Nitro H8. SO, imagen with the two-speed AND the Sirio, dam, that would be insain..
But OF COURSE I'll have a Nitro H8 when it come's, no discussion. But this Acme car is a klone of the existing H8, so it works superbly after a little "tweeking", he he..
The 3 racing front arms DONT fit. When you raise the arm past level they hit the diff out-drives. I can Dremel it to fit, but I havent decided yet.
Also, the SATO shocks where EXELLENT, I mean KYOSHO exellent :D
I will come with pictures for sure, I just want it to be superb first. Now I need to find a better looking body that will fit? No, the H8's dont fit, neighter does the Crowd Pleaser without fully cutting it to pieces..
Talk to you guys later!

Ronny-
Hi, I want to get a Mini Inferno, and I know I need oil shocks. I want good ones that don't leak. I don't really want to spend $40 or $60 on Kyosho oil shocks, even though I know they are evidently the best. So, the Sato shocks you're talking about, are those really good? They are only $21 at RCMart so I'm taking a look at them. Any more info will help!
Thanks,

ronny!! i have a question regarding 1/8 scale. my brother got a hyper 7. what is the best clutch he can get for it? he is about to need a new one and wants a racers opinion.
Matt
Hi Matt :)
Tell Kory to get Ofna Silver alu.shoes, part nr:10013.
They include 2 sets of spring also. Use the Black shoes when normal/slippery, and the Gold ones when normal/high-bite.
PS. Dont forget to put the small shims that's in the package on BEFORE he puts on the alu.shoes - they NEED to be in place, or the shoes WILL rubb against the flywheel, and that's a no-no ;)

Ok, here's my verdict of the 09!
OH MY GOD! If anyone think retail-price of 399.99 is expensive for this package, shame on you! This is without doubt THE BEST BUY you can do. I have had mine for a good week now, and ALL the problems you had with the electric one is GONE!
This car has new steering, ALL metal gear drive-train (NO wear at all after 20 tanks), metal-outdrives, Hitec 81MG servoes, small VERY good battery-pack, very good shocks (just fill thicker oil), SUPERB tank with no leaking, VERY powerful engine with perfect gearing, 1 screw-adjustment carburator with PERFECT non-adjustable low-speed tuning/adjustment, making ANYONE getting it perfectly tuned, even die-hard electro-fans. 6-7 minutes on a tank.
NO breakage, wear or loose parts/screws yet! This car is FANTASTIC right out of the box, no bull! Now,..... I have modded it, hehe. I'll do testing the next few days! All parts used except for the shocks (Sato), options are strikly 3Racing parts,.. in my opinion, THE best, neck to neck with original K-parts.
When I have tested it with all the new mods, I'll do a list of what fit & not, and what I have put on. I can weat your appetite with telling you that it now uses Spectrum's TINY receiver & Futaba 9650 Digital servo. Unfortunatly I dont have certain original parts I'd like to test - like the Racing tuned pipe, new flywheel & bell, and of course the very cool new Blue cooling head. Oh yeah, I also look forward to get hold of the extra brake-kit. I imagen a center-diff is around the corner,. THAT my friends, would Kick Butt in performance I promise you..
Ok, later

And in that you will not regret my friend! I actually sound like I was K-sponsored, and not MUGEN sponsored,. but hey, this buggy really deserve this praise I'm giving it!

i plan to get one to transform into a mini truggy since most of the tracks arround me are blown out and my electric mini inferno gets bucked arround a good bit. im thinking the st will make it more stable and fun to drive.

MI 09 test, Part 2.
Ok, here's my second opinion about the 09, put this time modded with my favorite option-parts, the well made, affordable 3 Racing parts.
I do however want to stress again that the 09 is AWESOME out of the box, but a racer will ALWAYS wanna get that little extra, being it durability - weight, speed, whatever - we like to MODD, and by god, I did :D
I forgot to weigh the car out of the box, but it's supposed to be 950 grams!
It now weighs 1008, so 58.gram added including ALL options mentioned here.
ELECTRONICS:
1.Std K-servo (Hitec 81MG) for throttle/braking duty
2.Futaba 9650 Digital servo
3.Spectrum 3500 Micro receiver
4.Original 500 mah battery
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3RACING OPTIONS (TI = Titanum color)
MIF-008/WO - Front Graphite shock tower
MIF-030/TI - Aluminum steering blocks
MIF-023/TI - Aluminum King Pin
MIF-036/TI - Aluminum 20 Degree C-hubs
MIF-035/TI - Front Aluminum Upper suspension mount
MIF-025/TI - Front Aluminum Lower suspension holder
MIF-021/TI - Front swing shaft
MIF-010/TI - Wheel hub adaptors
MIF-018/TI - Rear Aluminum hub carriers
MIF-028/TI - Rear 3 degree suspension holder
MIF-009/WO - Rear Graphite shock tower
MIF-024/WO - Graphite King pin holder set
MIF-022/TI - Rear swing shaft
MIF-007 - Titanium Suspension shafts
I would however recommend to use the Aluminum F & R towers for most people, due to the well-known "Bashing-factor" many like to do, - so this goes for the Graphite King Pin holders too. Most will be better of using Alu.
in those stress-places!
Here's the nr's for the Alu towers. MIF-008/TI = Front & MIF/TI-009 = Rear
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOCA BEARINGS:
8 Yellow Ultra Sealed ceramic wheel-bearings. (These ROCK!)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
KYOSHO OPTION:
F & R Anti-roll bars (A "must-have")
F & R RED shock springs ( A "must-have")
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
SATO OPTIONS:
Oil shocks (These ROCK)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, there you have it guys. I did a test on concret, and can confirm that modding DO give results! I need track time to see how much difference, but durability WILL be increased no matter how you turn it around.
Is all these options NEEDED, no, by far there not - but some I STRONGLY advise to use regardless upon how incredible good the car is out of the box!
These would be, Aluminum shock towers, RED K-springs & anti-roll bars, Aluminum rear hubs.
Performance on MY car, well - God Dam

Ronny, sounds like you have a good amount of fuel through your 09 so far, have you taken a look at your center driveshafts or have you replaced them yet? I lost mine after about a quart of fuel and replaced the dogbone pins with some hardend pins from some old 3 racing aluminum universals, since then I haven't had a problem with a little over a gallon of fuel.
I will have to weigh the 09 and the 09 ST to see how much more the ST weighs.
