No. The Mamba motor can directly fit onto the H8 original motor mount.

But you may have a hard time to find a motor gear. Some modification is needed (i.e. trim the base of the gear, etc). The best fitted one is Team Associate 13T.

Good luck.

Can I use the stock pinion???

I am currently running a 10T HPI pinion, I ran it today, but I needed more speed. I should gear a little higher...

...cant use stock...shaft is different...stock is 2.3mm...MAMBA is 2.0...you COULD shim it but stay safe and go with a pinion that fits...

I know a 10T pinion is a bit low, I understand that the 13T associated can fit. Is that a good size pinion..

...10 wont fit due to chassis geometry...i understood that the MAMBA was best with a 13 due to overheating...I think Castle Creations even said DONT GO LOWER than 13...I may be wrong but i think thats right...Do a search for castle creations and the thread / message should come up...most of the mamba threads are quite early on...

I thought Castle Creations said don't go higher than 11t due to overheating...I was able to fit a 9t, 10t, and 11t with ease with a little cutting of the chassis. :)

Actually....

I am currently running a 10T RC18T pinion in the inferno and she fits perfect. Our local track is a small track and it works perfectly with no overheating issues.
