Check it out

I was going to do alot of the same stuff (not the electrical stuff) but the cf parts and the other stuff he has on there ... but is it gonna be to heavy after i get a new brushless system in it ? Or would the added weight be a good thing then ? Have you guys had a better driving car with it being a little heavey after putting in a brushless system and all the other aftermarcket parts in ?

A guy by the name of bluegrooveracer, I think he is a member here. But he posts more on one18th.com.
Here is a pic of the bottom of the chassis....

I think the tires on the H8 are the GPM spikes...

the tires on the Mini-T Buggy are mini-T tires but the fronts were narrowed but you can use GPM narrow fronts (second pic)

Just a question, the maximum voltage of your KO VFS is 8.4v, and you are working at 9.6v, how it smells?

BitHed
09-12-2005, 12:02 AM
...its interesting that he got rid of that top plate TOTALLY...and is that silver box with LRP on the reciever? If its not then i cant see where it is...

...i think the weight would be good...nothing TOO drastic...

Hawk

This is a thing of beauty to behold. BUT, what I like most about it is the motor to the ESC and the ESC to battery connections are the absolute minimum possible. Way to go!

BitHed
09-12-2005, 03:07 AM
...but WHICH one is the reciever ? LOL...it is nice...any ideas...I cant believe he loaded the batteries and retained them like that...i spent every waking minute thinking about that yesterday...It was a wet sunday :D I am SO going to set that up tonight...Imitation is the purest from of admiration (cough cough) :o

hi bit the receiver we use in all our cars is a gws pico on 75 fm super small great for tight fits like this chassis this was or first attempt at a graphite chassis for the h8 i havn't tried it yet we just got it built and my wife went into labour but all is great i have a new son bluegroove jr to teach all my rc stuff to man i can't wait to hit the my track. here is all our pics to date where we design and test oh and yes some more h8 pics etc... www.one18th.com/6093Gallery.htm

Hey Bleugroove ...

let me tell you this ... I was happy that our first born was a girl, thought that she would NOT be touching my toys so I could have all my time left with my own stuff. Seems she likes it as well (is almost 2 years old) and I can tell you, don't even think about working on your stuff anymore while they are awake! Those little fingers grab better than any kind of pliers!

From the other hand ... those little fingers are better than ANY RC car will ever be, so ... after a while, you don't mind. For the rest ... I'm proud of the things I already did with CF, titanium, ..., and I can only say your work is ... EXCELLENT!

i havn't tried it yet we just got it built

it should do great... it has all the chassis bracing to keep it solid, the layout is the same as stock so the balance should be there, the battery straps look awesome as long as the batteries stay ON the chassis... (I can't see what holds them from sliding sideways of the side).... and carbon and silver aluminum look awesome.... looks like that new Technokit 1/10 scale car

bluegrooveracer
09-16-2005, 06:35 PM
thats funny that very touring car inspired all my designs right now i'm tring adhesive high density foam strips we'll have to see if they stay put arching was more of a concern with the alum brace in between the foam was installed in there as well.

No problem.. I just hate how people get on the forums and say crap...then hide behind anonimity

*edit..I see where he explained himself better in another post... but still... since you aren't ACTUALLY using the name "Mini-BK" there shouldn't be an issue.... and as long as a design has been changed by 20% there shouldn't be an issue either...and you have (from 1/10 scale to 1/16 scale)

I really like the lexan bod on it... look great... keep me posted as to when you'll have the conversions ready.... I know you're looking for a cheaper source for parts... but I'll take an expensive version for now...body, towers, chassis....let me know

I don't break my stuff so I can be just as happy with a second-run one-off and not worry about looking for replacement parts

plain_simple
09-21-2005, 05:22 PM
yeppers, acura has good taste.
Bluegrooveracer also does some really nice things for RC18T's.
Is there already a price for that chassis?

bluegrooveracer
09-22-2005, 02:34 PM
no sorry we are concentrating on the 2wd buggy right now

Hey Bluegroove..... what shocks are those on your "Mini BK"?

**Edit.. nevermind... I read one of the posts at one18th.... RC18T FT shocks... did you de-anodize them or did they come silver?... and do you have any leaking problems like the Mini-T shocks?

bluegrooveracer
09-23-2005, 08:07 PM
no leaking at all and yes i used drain cleaner to strip the finish oven cleaner ruins
the alum

bluegrove, i posted a little on the one18th forum but the pple there are evil! i like it here better. as akura said i would try to pay for a more expensive conversion. i dont have much$ but i can work like no other when i want somepthing!! :D

BitHed
09-24-2005, 04:04 AM
...good point BlueGroove ;) Nah mate we will keep it like this but rest assured we will be all set up for the ST and the new things it will mean for the forums ;) Then of course there is ALWAYS the possibility that KYOSHO will do and ON-road version

mat3833
09-24-2005, 02:45 PM
bluegrove, i was refering to the mini t converson, but since the mini t i was going to get got sold on ebay( the stupid prick!) i am now interested in both the mini inferno and mini t. i was wondering if you would do an aluminum chassi version of the H8 chassi, i like carbon but i would be afraid to drive the car.... i would hate to break it  . but keep us posted on both conversions, i will still try to get a mini t!

Matt

bluegrooveracer
09-24-2005, 03:27 PM
i don't think you would ever break a 3mm graphite chassis if you do you might consider retiring from the hobby lol. right now we will only be concentrating on the mini 2wd buggy as there is a graphite and alum chassis available for the mini inferno already i like to make items that don't exsist

mat3833
09-24-2005, 05:50 PM
awesome! do you have any mini ts laying around you might trade? just a roller. thanks

akura2
09-25-2005, 04:15 PM
that reminds me.. I have to call a friend of mine down there to see if she's ok.... :(

Bluegroove.....MAKE ME A CONVERSON KIT!!!! NOW!!!!

j/k

I've been looking at my Mini-T and I noticed that the proportions are really way off compared to say a H8

the rear wheels are too tucked forward and the wheels are too big... I need a buggy conversion...I am totally about scale looks and you nailed it!

bluegrooveracer
09-25-2005, 06:11 PM
thanks acura2 we just had a baby 2 weeks ago rc has not been getting much time lately but soon enough i will most likely put the first on ebay to gauge pricing start at 1 cent and see what happens i know alot of people out there don't like ebay but diapers are so expensive so i need top dollar but don't worry
i will very soon sell them priviate to guys like you at a discount

BLACKHAWK444
09-25-2005, 06:44 PM
Are you talking about the Mini-T kit?

bluegrooveracer
09-25-2005, 07:37 PM
sorry i know its a little off topic but yes it was refering to the mini t buggy conversion

mat3833
09-25-2005, 11:37 PM
bluegroove, i didnt get hit by rita( the stupid thing) i live near orlando, all we got were a few storms. when will the conversion be on ebay? i will most likely bid on it, then if i win i can get a mini t!! i would pay around 50-60 for chassis, body and front wheels(im lazy, i dont like to work hard :D ) what will come in the kit?

Matt

bluegrooveracer
09-26-2005, 12:12 AM
hi matt heres the buggy info
we will be making a buggy conversion [approx 1/15 scale] for the mini t or maybe those with the know how can make their own this conversion lengthens the wheel base of the mini t by 30mm making it as close to scale as possible with stock track width what we will be selling for this conversion is only what is not available already
the conversion will include the following
1 lenthened graphite chassis
2 graphite battery strap
3 battery foam spacer
4 clear buggy body
items that will be needed
1. b3 wing and small screws and nuts will need to be cut down dementions will be included only
2. wing mounts [xxx4 body mounts work]and 2 20mm 4/40 screws
3. alum side mounts that link chassis to nose piece
4. narrow front tires gpm sell pre done tires or stock front mini t tires cut down and reglued
5. front rims will require cutting down only no back lip is needed to keep tires glued on
6. a graphite rear tower is not nessesary but much easier to screw wing mounts to
7. stock front tower will need some material removed graphite one will be more durable after material removed
if you have any questions on how to make this feel free to ask. we will be tring to get it produced soon production will be small at first to guage responce

mat3833
09-26-2005, 12:17 AM
oh yea thats right! what are the aproximate deminsions of the chassis? i might be able to make one, but i cant figure out the chassis size! if you dont want to give that info im cool with it, as someone could steal your idea. thanks anyway.

Matt

bluegrooveracer
09-26-2005, 12:36 AM
95mm wide and 162 long the taper is hard to translate into words. i would prefer if people would make their own chassis graphite is messy and dangerous the body is easy to make and i would prefer to sell just the body i have sold some overseas to those who made their own chassis if you have any more questions let me know

akura2
09-26-2005, 01:57 AM
well if you make and post (or PM) a PDF template of the parts... (The chassis, and battery strap)..and the assembly instructions I wouldn't mind trying to make one myself

bluegrooveracer
09-26-2005, 02:17 AM
i'm good with making these things but i'm very computer savy i don't know how do do that acura its pretty straight forward the only thing you could get wrong is the taper and when you get the body you can just remove material till it fits
and the battery strap is straight forward to

akura2
09-26-2005, 07:02 AM
I'm desparate.... place your chassis on a scanner...and save the image w/o changing the size and send me the image... :D

bluegroove, how long is the wide part of the chassis? like where the batt would fit in the mini t. if i can get that i can pretty much have a chassis that is about the same as yours. when i get this i will be able to send out the emails. until then.

Matt

bluegrooveracer
09-26-2005, 07:20 PM
95mmx162mm

mat3833
09-26-2005, 07:31 PM
i have that, im talking about the widest part of the chassis, where the stock mini t batt would sit. if i can get that length i can have the chassis prety much squared away. i dont mean to be a pest but i want the batt area to be around the right length/ width.

ie. front rims narrowed, front tires, wing, wing mount, side chassis mounts, window masks, entena mount. please give us your feed back as it will be going in to production this month so we know what parts to have stock on thanks for your interest.
