The Atomik slipper gears may be cast, but they shredded my Team Orion pinion gear which is made of brass. I think I'll try the Associated pinions next. :)

Yea but brass is a really soft metal compared to alloy...Associated is alloy, and HPI is steel, I think, and using them will almost make certain that the slipper gear strips instead of the pinion when there is a bad mesh. :D

Same happened to my brass 10T pinion when I upgraded to the Atomic Slippers. Integy 11T on there now which appears to be holding

Hey guys,

What I did was alternate them. I use regular brass pinions and the gear right off of the pinion I use the stock nylon gear. The other gear that is off of the spur I use the Atomik Alloy gear. It is the smoothest combo that I have found and it lasts the longest with my Mamba Comp X setup. Let me know what you guys are doing/trying.

Thanks,
