everything sounded NICE! i rather replace the aon 4900 with the mamba 6800 though...mamba will have trouble moving all that alum. :D

Hi guys ,

this extra weight isn't that much I think.
I just weight my Mini Inferno (has alll alloy parts) and the weight is about 880 grams (batt. 8 cells incl)
A standard H8 (also incl the same batt. 8 cells) weighs about 830 grams .....
It's more , yes, but only 50 grams ....

greetings
Koen

I wonder what parts will give up first since its all aluminium... for my experience is always good to have some plastic around the aluminium to be the first parts to give up when you crash... i have a lot of hop-ups in my baby too :o but... i did kept some plastic parts on crashing critical areas just in case.
Conclusion: the other day i got an interference (looking for a spektrum as we speak :( ) and having the arms in plastic did the trick on not hurting any other parts ;)

lol i can tell u why ur slipper stripped out....grind that pinion down....so it wont touch the end of the pinion when u try to mesh it...

i did grind it down and meshed it properly. i have 4 nitro r/c's i know how to mesh. the problem was that the shaft has play in it and when i meshed it the shaft was shifted to the front of the car thus allowing optimal mesh but, the shaft moves towards the rear and then as you described the pinion ate the front of the slipper off. but look at the whole thing is rounde off. this is front cartwheeling the car 10 or so times at like 30 mph then flipping it over and juicing the shit out it to here zzzzzzzzzzzz and no go!

thanks holy for the compliment. i think we have almost the same set up if im not mistakin.

...Have you tried to modify the chassis to allow a proper mesh with an 11t pinion?...If that isn't the solution, try the Atomic Alloy gears to replace those stripped ones...Haven't had any problems with my gears stripping :D

...You're welcome :)...I don't have the same setup as you...I use HPI pinion, pictures if you want to see the comparison...just ask :)

i have ordered those gears already. have you tried the titnium shaft yet. also bit could you throw a pic or link of close ups of your bithexes for me. holy the hpi micro rs4 pinions need no modification correct?

...HPI pinions are fine...They fit no mods needed...I have a KYOSHO titty shaft and it works great...

...I was certain that it was "So do the Robinson pinions..."

Like BitHed said, the HPI Micro RS4 pinions will need no modification, other than to cut the chassis (http://photobucket.com/albums/a366/holy_inferno/?action=view&current=Picture015.jpg) in a bit to accomodate a good mesh (http://photobucket.com/albums/a366/holy_inferno/?action=view&current=Picture016.jpg) if using an 8,9,10,or 11t pinion. :)

navydochalf8, how's your Mini Inferno coming along?...question, what screws did you use to mount the Mamba motor onto that 3Racing mount?

Thanks :)
