Sorry, I can't tell from the photo... what's the problem?

Looks like those flakes of metal grinding off and landing on the chassis is the problem.

The motor gear is too big?

...sorry...me too...i dont see the problem...the metal you see is just the coating from the atomic gears...think of it as gold dust...no harm no foul everything works as it should...plus the freaky dust ;)

...oh i see some leaf in there too...So THATS where you hide your stash ;)

...Lim can you tell us some more about your problem?

Mesh too tight?

There are even what appear to be metal flakes in the plastic spur gear in the differential. I would say the gears have a poor quality coating on them to make them shiny. I would guess the gears are made of a softer material and like brass and coated to appear to be steel like.
I don't think it is the Atomic gears but the motor pinion gear that is brass coated to appear shiny and steel like.

I don't see any problems either, but I think you can tighten that slipper even more...the spring hasn't coiled upon itself yet :)

When I first fitted my Atomic gears I ended up with a shredded motor pinion, completely destroyed. Seems OK since I replaced it though

hello, thank you for answer, the problem is that the pinion is really damaged and you can see it because there are little parts of metal on the chassis.
smoothound...i think that you have the same problem like me...so what have you done? have you only changed your pinion with another 14T made by kyosho?

Same here Smooth...I doubled up the paper thickness by folding it twice and getting the best mesh that way. I also applied some CrazyHorsie diff grease to the metal to metal meshes. Good Luck

I was using a 10T pinion of unknown origin. I've now fitted an Integy 11T which has survived...so far

Get the HPI microRS4 metal pinions!!! :)

I bought the HPI 9T metal pinion... it doesn't match too well with the H8 gear... I am afraid it will damage the center differential.

dude, the flakes are from the atomic gears, its just the gold flakes flaking off...and, the reason u damaged your pinion is because you probably meshed it wrong

His pinion is fine, it is just wearing at an accellerated rate. Probably because it is a brass pinion with cheap thin coating to make it shiny silver. These work just fine with plastic gears but tend to deteriorate fast with hard metal gears.

I agree with Hawk on this one!

Will the atomic slipper gears mesh well with the center diff? I dont want to mess up the diff gear. Also, is there anything out of the norm i should know about the install? thx in advance! >> neu <<

...easy install...romantic mesh...easy as pie...you raise the percentage of masing your pinion though...oh its so exciting...just make sure everything is tight and is set well...should be hunky-dory..

Hello!
Same problem! With original pinion and atomic slipper gear...
Look at these photos: the pinion is completely damaged... a better (stronger) pinion will solve? Thanks

...ewww...GOLD DUST!! Too cool!!!

...stock KYOSHO will get eaten...IMO HPI Micro pinions are the best so far...They seem to be much harder...But you GOTTA love the gold dust :D FREE BLING!! lol..
