I asked them about their T2815-3500 (which is the same size as the 5800) and here is their reply:

"Personally, Our team have not look into using T2815-3500 for the mini
cars/trucks/buggies. The first reason is size limitation on most vehicles.
Second, there is fitting issues (the only one that we have had good success
with is the Duratrax's MiniQuake). Finally, the mfg have not made proper
gears. We are using the 28mm OD brushless motors on 1/10 scale
cars/truck... So, I would say it is quite an overkill for half8."

The AON motor on the right is a direct fit. So, it looks like the mounting holes in the AON motor on the left (a 2815 motor) are too far apart.

Actually... if you look at that pic... the 4900 has four equally spaced holes so you can rotate the motor in the mount to set the wires properly... but the 5900 has two holes that are closer to the shaft than the other holes (like the Mamba).... so I think if you mount it using the closer holes... it should fit... in theory...I haven't seen the 5900 in person to take a measurement of the hole spacing... but it's pretty obvious in the pic

Yep, akura2 is right. The two verticle holes look to be the right size.

but it also looks like it may take bigger screws....3mm maybe?
