Earlier today I was searching E-bay when I came across these...

I already have the trinity ones but I was tempted into giving these a try. Since I already have the 3racing swing shafts I decided not to go with the CAW set. They still look kind of thick and may still have th thread problem but we will have to wait and see.I will let you guys know how I like them as soon as they arrive.

yea i been tempted to try those also, but someone on one18th mentioned they wouldnt work on the h8? dont know if he owned one, but i believe he mentioned they are def. bigger than the trinity, also seems the trinity's would be a lil easier(safer) to shave down to expose a few more threads on the axle..
heres the post hex (http://www.one18th.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23371)
either way i still need new wheels/tires fast for the dirt, with no luck sourcing the trinity hexes...i really cant believe no big name company hasnt come up with 1/10 hexes specifically for the H8 yet..bummer

Well I guess if they don't fit then I can just mount them on the Brushless RC18t I just bought... :)

Ok after reading the thread and seeing some of those pics on the other site I had an idea...
What if I cut the adapter at the end of the first hex? Right where it starts to thin out into the round piece. It would make a thin adapter, wouldn't it?
Check the pic...

I meant if I cut along the red line. I know it might take alittle work and
I wouldn't be surprised when I finish modding the adapters, that some company will make ones that are a direct fit for the Half8.But it's a hobby right? :) Bare with the pic I didn't have time for anything fancy :D

I think these TA ones are too thick. Cutting away the other side may not be a good idea. Stick with your Trinity ones.

I am still waiting for my CAW wheel adaptor set to arrive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's possible to cut as you mentioned but the adaptor will be too weak because the openning space for the pin is very wide and deep with the 2 different hole dia. Pics should give you better idea of what I'm talking about.

Here are RC18MT and Half8 axles with Trinity and Hot Racing TC wheel adaptors comparision. As I earlier posted in the other thread, the half8's axles are too short.

Thanks that helps out alot, I guess I'll have to wait then... I will continue to use the trinity adapters I shaved down. I wonder how much a machine shop would charge to borrow that design and just make the first hex a bit thicker and the pin slot not as deep

Thanks for the pics RockDragon...

That pic of the trinity hex on the H8 STILL has more threads free than mine does... I have enough to grip the nut... but that pic shows at least four more threads available than I have

akura2..... These adaptors are sitting freely to the axles.
When they are installed to the truck, they will be pressed against the bearings, therefore, as you mentioned as four more threads available than yours have.
The pic was just for showing the ideal of what I meant by "Half8 axle is too short".

Updated

Firstly I have to take back my previous opinion that I gave out to maxxenitout eariler. Why? Because yesterday I took his idea of cutting the adaptor at the end of the first hex and I did it successfully.

From one set of Hot Racing adaptor, I got two sets of adaptor at the end. Photo 1 (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/RockDragon/SANY0266.jpg) shows the silver adaptor untouched and the blue ones are cut. On the second hex, I cut the slot in the center that is wide enough for the pin without cutting the boarder . Tada! I got the second set done.

But I got one problem when I first installed the wheels. The adaptors were pressed in too deep and touched the bearing and unable to spin. So as shown on the pic, paperclip magic!, I roll the paperclip around the screwdriver and cut it to small rings that has 4mm Dia. These ring are to be put in the middle of the bearing and the pin (see Photo 2 (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/RockDragon/SANY0269.jpg)). And the Photo 3 (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/RockDragon/SANY0271.jpg) show the nutlock that is fitted all the way but I can't tight it in too much because of the ring will be pushed to hard against the bearing and make the damage to the bearing.

Here is what I got on my Half8 now.

BTW I think CAW will not like me for this. lol lol lol

I was going to try it... even after the valid points you made. Just havent had the time to cut them. And I didn't want to rush and mess them up. Good job ROCK!! The paper clip ring might also work as a shim. Now I need some time to cut mine.

at the risk of sounding like a newbie.... what are those brass discs I see that come with the hex set?

does that slip into the hex to reduce the size of the hole?

Those brass discs that come with the hex set (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/RockDragon/SedanWheelAdaptorRC18T.jpg) are put at the outside of the wheel before the nutlock. This is because the hole of the 1/10 TC wheel is larger than the standard 1/18 scale wheel. Here is how it goes (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/RockDragon/SANY0226.jpg).

They slip on the axle after you place the rim over the hex, to reduce the hole in the rim.
