ah... I thought that maybe they were magnetic... and held the wheels on with new rare earth magnets, that allowed for rapid tire changes

I may have thought about that... but
1.the part says "Kyosho Mini Inferno Wheel Shaft Set "
2.in the manual it shows part IH29 at the wheels
Perhaps, it's a photo of an 1/8th scale. My Mugen has a shaft like that: a threaded collar slides over the shaft, a pin goes through the threaded collar, then the wheel slides over the shaft onto the threaded collar, and then a nut holds the wheel onto the threaded collar.
I believe those are not axle shafts but the diff out drives. The pin in the shaft is in the inside gear that reside in the diff cup. like theses:

well maybe the part number or the picture is wrong... cause here the pic from the manual... WITH the number on it
I agree that the number is for the stub axle. The lettering talks about axle. The picture is not of a stub axle, it is another part. If there were threads there it would be a picture of a stub axle. Since there are parts that look exactly like this and they are used in the differentials, I think they used the wrong part for the picture.
If you come up with a way to mount wheels, then I will call it an axle. You can cut the threads yourself with a die. That might be the way to go because you can determine the length of the threads to suit your purpose.
Just thought I would mention that is sure looks like the diff drive cup.

well its not that big of a deal... I was just wondering since I saw the pic on eBay... I don't need the axles and I don't really think I ever will...
oh well.. I'll just chalk it up to people that don't know which pics are which
