1. Futaba MC230CR

2. Hitec HS-85MG
3. Novak XXtra Synthesized FM receiver 75MHz

I got the MC230CR because I heard that I can run 8 cells. HS-85MG is a given, because its the best servo out there ;) . I plan on using the Novak receiver with my Ko Propo 75Mhz Helios. This will work right? I can't wait to get all these parts installed in my H8. I think they will wake it up quite a bit  .

That should all work fine... it's just a matter of having enough room on the electronics deck of your H8... but you should be ok

BTW.. according to Tower.. the ESC can only handle 7cells max

Yes but on a thread here I read that people were using 8 cells and not having problems. Thanks.

...you can run 9.6 no problem...

they rate it for a 1/10 too. Thats what I am running no prob. As long as your amperage stays within limit, you can run pretty high voltage. I ran a 3 cell lipo (12.4-12.6volts) through it just fine too.

Cool.. well if you guys are running it like that then fine... I've got several of the 230CRs and the 330CRs but since I went brushless right away I didn't consider it....

Wow you ran a 3 cell lipo on it?!? I can't beleive they don't say that they can handle more than 7 cells. I guess Futaba doesn't want an angry mob of people complaining about fried esc's :D . I just took all my stock electronics out. How much do you think I could get for everything (tx, rx/esc, servo, battery holder, stock motor, and a couple plastic nitro things)?

well, you have to remember it is for 1/10th cars. Speed controls are built to withstand and provide a certain amount of current. Once the current is decided, they assume the average user will run a 6-7 cell pack. They then test motors and find the lowest possible turn to safely run with that battery configuration. But if you use a smaller motor, than you have plenty of amperage left over to use. But it drastically increases with voltage where motors only slightly increase the amperage. I hope this makes sense, it doesn't to me. lol

I meant 85MG...:D

the 81MG at servocity is $23.49

I went to that site you posted...and those servo prices seem to be estimated street prices... not what they sell them for.. I didn't find any links to where that site actually sells the servos for those prices...

maybe I missed it

They did change the site since the last time I actually really looked at it. Myself, I simply use the website servo chart for sizes and information. Locally, I can usually purchase the servos for the same price or slightly cheaper even at Hobby People and there should be HP's in your area. It's just too bad Ultimate Hobbies doesn't post more inventory on their website though it is only a phone call away.

True... I'm within 15 minutes of two HPs... and ultimate is 30 minutes away... but before I make the drive I'd like to know if they have stock...(like I did Sunday...drove all the way there for those diff outdrives and they haven't had them for weeks but their site said they were in stock)

Then there is me. I don't order from UH, because another California hobby store informs me they'll have the parts when I arrive in California. I drive to California for RCX 2005 only to learn the California hobby store didn't get the parts for my Mini-Inferno.

I then go to UH's new hobby store which is not open yet and then off to RCX 2005 where run into the owners of both LHS. The UH owner then speaks of delays in opening the new store location. Then the next day, I go to UH's old location which is closed as well yet the own of UH never bothered to inform me. And that is how I ended up with a second Mini-Inferno at RCX 2005--all over one freaking part that I needed.

Now, I am waiting for this shop "still" to get the alloy spur gear in and have yet to purchase those other fancy option suspension parts that I would have purchased in California. Quite frankly, the Mini-Inferno seems to be handling just great without them. However, if I tear up another stock spur gear, I will probably order two alloy gears from overseas since I should have had one by now if I ordered it already.

Hobby People now carries the Mini inferno... but from my experience with them they probably won't stock the parts... stupid but true.
