Is SSG Graphite? What's the difference between SSG and CF? I know the price difference, but strength/durability, weight?

side- when will the halfEIGHT.com shop be restocking their 3racing front shock towers?

Thanks :)

SSG = Silver Surface Graphite; I'm not certain on the weight/strength difference, but it looks really cool! :D

More 3R Shock Towers should be here in about a week. Also check out the Country Alloy Works Mini Inferno Alloy Front Shock Tower Set (%20http://halfeight.com/shop/product.php?productid=16134&cat=0&page=1) - a little more expensive, but unmatched in craftsmanship! :)

The SSG looks dang cool. Since I own a Yokomo YRX-12WE with their chassis, I made a quick pit at Yokomo USA. Compared to what though I can't comment. http://www.yokomousa.com/

Testing showed that the new SSG material allowed the chassis to maintain a precise setting with better consistency.

I have had a couple Yokomo chassis made out of SSG. They are not as strong as regular carbon fiber. The reason is that a layer of the carbon fiber is left out so that a layer of silver can be put on, so you actually have 2 less layers of actual carbon fiber. Yokomo came out with the SD touring car in SSG first but people were complaining about it not being stiff enough so they brought out another version with regular black carbon fiber. If you compare the two cars you can feel a difference in the stiffness of the two.
