I am going to be installing my new AON 4900 & mamba 25 combo soon. However i would like to see some pics of how you guys who have any BL system wired everything.

I know some of you guys are picky about this stuff and I want to make everything look nice a clean. So please if you guys could post some picks of your layouts..... thanks!

well here's mine... I figure that as long as the wires don't touch and short, the car runs well, and everything fits under the body I'm all set....

Mine looked that clean once. Well I guess #2 still does. Of course, the 3-cell LiPo required a different set up. There are photos in Gallery TNB. ;)

VelcroŽ attached onto the transponder tray that comes with the car in the accessory bag... I already broke the "ears" off for placement in another car or I would have used screws

Ya... i wondered what it was ... then I looked on page six of the manual and it was right on the middle... and on page 31 they show you how to put it on

Industrial strength VelcroŽ works wonders--probably better than MacGuyver tape. My transponder doesn't even have the case with the exception of the top portion containing the numbers. I removed the case, heat shrunk it, and shortened the wires so I could use it inside my Mini-Z-MR02 Enzo. Here is a photo of it on top of my F1 on top of another F1. ;)

Hey guys,

Did you guys use the stock motor mount screws to mount the AON 4900 or do you have to find something longer??? I am using the 3 Racing motor mount, also Bit wheredi dyou get that heat sink?

BitHed

Stock ones wont work? Are they too short?

Also did you have to shave the gear down to fit seems like the shaft is a little short? Or do you have to go with different gear? If so please let me know what brand and tooth count.

Did you shave a flat spot on the shaft for the set screw to ride on?

What about that heat sink, or is that a secret!?!?!?!?

no flat spot on my AON shaft... I used the stock screws (they work fine) as long as you are using the stock motor mount... and I'm using an HPI 13T pinion (mounted with the set screw pointing away from the motor... the stock pinions are designed for a 2.3mm shaft and the AON has a 2mm shaft....

I put a flat spot on the shaft. Currently, I'm using a Robinson Racing 1614 RC18T Mini Pinion 14T .5 Mod. Hardened Alum. pinion gear. This gear also has a larger set screw than those used in the Team Trinity Mini-T Hi-Speed Metal Pinion Gear set. I also have a RR 16T but have not tried it.

ok, so the flat spot is not needed, but I think I will put one on just to be safe. Also I can go ahead and use RR RC18T Pinions.....they are a direct fit?

MOTRAIN

ok I ordered up some of those Robinson Racing gears cause the Trinity ones suck... the set screw is way too small and just plan pisses me off! Sorry about the rant but I needed to vent.

Now please help me understand what the different tooth gear will do. I ordered the 13,14,15 which one will give more top end and which one will give more low end? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have lost all reasoning right now....

Thanks again for all your help.

the smaller the pinion (lower tooth count) the more low end punch... the larger the pinion(more teeth) the faster the top end will be

MOTRAIN

ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. I hope these Robinson pinions are better.

Maybe i should just put the stock motor mount back in so i can just use the stock screws? Since the stock screws are too short for the 3 Racing mount.... any thoughts or part number for better screws?
