yep, 280 and 300 motors are same can size, the aon motor is a 300 motor, if your looking for a heatsink for a 400 motor, integy has them, but only in the same ole blue or silver :(

no sir, its a 300, although aon does offer a 400 sized BL motor also

You are absolutely right.. the 2815 is the 400-sized motor at 28mm in diameter... most 400 sized brushed motors are 27.6mm

Now that I know for sure I'll look around for some heatsinks.... that one looks cool

so...is it a 300 size or a 400 size motor? I AM ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that people say the 4900 its a 400......how can it be a 300?

the 2415-4900 is a 300-sized motor @24mm

the 2815-5800 is a 400-sized motor @28mm..

The last time I checked my Castle Motor CM2080 was smaller than both my smaller and larger AON motors. If one AON is 400 and both 280s and 300s are the same size, what size are the Castle Motors? I know they've been used to replace 280/300/350 sized motors; however, if a 280 is the same as a 300, then why make a distinction?

i assume the aon 400 size 5800 fits the H8? if not..looks like im gonna have to go with the 4900...but im still buggin on to choose the 4900....6800..or maybe even the 8000

...see if they PHYSICALLY fit first...the 4900 is a drop-in...unsure about the others...no good running them (or even purchasing them) if they arent gonna fit...

Thanks. Another dumb question, if a 280 is the same as a 300, then why make a distinction?

I also dug out another brushless motor I had laying around and took a photo comparing the sizes. The following photo shows a Kyosho Mini-Z motor, Castle CM2080, Model Mini AC1215/16, and an AON T2815-3002. I would have added the AON T2415-4900 in the photo, but it is in one of the Mini-Infernos. Just a hair size difference between that 280 Model Mini motor and the CM2080 though I can't tell if it is blonde, red, or brunette. Z motor, 130? Then I have a few slot car motors laying around and I never realized I had so many different sizes.

Well the 300 (last time I checked) is called a 300 or 370....

the Mamba motor is a 200/280 sized motor.... I have a 280BB brushed motor from my Kyosho motorcycle and it's around the same size

tnb, have you compared the mamba 8000 to the aon 4900 yet? got any vids?

Of course I've compared them in the Kyosho Mini-Inferno. I started out with the CM2080 and have been running the AON T2415-4900 ever since.

I will write that the CM2080 is a lot of "fast" fun. However, in my uneducated and non-expert opinion, it is too fast to run on the local dirt tracks with a Thunder Power 11.1v 1900mAH 3-cell lipo. Of course, I figured that when I installed it with that set up since I've been running a CM2080 in my Xray M18 with 3-cell lipos—I simply wanted a speed demon. More importantly to me, the CM2080 (with a heat sink) also appears to get hotter than the AON T2415-4900 (without a heat sink) in the heavier and larger Kyosho Mini-Inferno though the AON T2415-4900 gets pretty dang warm if I run two 3-cell lipos back-to-back (I don’t do that anymore).

I also hope to get better temp readings when Nomadio releases a new transceiver and I get the temp probe to work properly. Hopefully, I'll receive the new transceiver in less than a month. Currently, the transceiver is in my Mugen mbX5 since I got tired of switching it out back and forth between the Mugen and one of the Mini-Infernos. The updated software and updated transceiver should also have a functioning stats mode so I should be able to compare temps and see them at their hottest points.

Regarding speed using the AON, I've been passing 1/8th scales on the straights without much problem though they may run me over at the end of the straights if they catch me going into the turn. However, when I can stay out of their way and drive decent, I've been giving them a pretty good run. As mentioned on another post, last weekend I was making the doubles, but was having problems with the triples. However, so were the other people. I do need more "dirt" practice bouncing between the two scales though but I'm starting to get a better rhythm.

If you want to know what kind of tracks I'm running on, visit the following thread for photos:

There are also more photos at MZR, which include the on-road tracks.
