I was afraid to ask.... glad you did!

they take the place of the stock plastic spacers that the screws go into for the knuckles, the 3racing ones dont come with screws, like this kit does, these are actual titanium BTW

...gee...JUST like the setup BitHed has been running ;) Next they will start churning out bearings and kingpin screws for their carbon steering units ;)

...ok i will stack my chips ;) How many days until they figure out the bearing-in-the-diff mod ? lol...

...I actually like how they have set it up the bearing to fit OVER the lower nipple...I just cut mine off...I hope they have left enough material to not weaken the steering rod...Its mighty skinny on the rear edge there...

...BTW this was my 900th post :o

already done :D

where can we order that or when can bit send it to us hehehe :D

yea bit thats why im holding off on getting it, worried about the amount of material around where the ball studs are mounted, on a good note though the 3racing one is slightly different- the bearings ride on the big post(dont know the name, kyosho calls them wipers i think, lol) so that means both of these parts can be used together fo even smoother steering

bit, what diff mod do you speak of with the bearings?

I just bought this very same set last night at the track after my screws disappeared into the dirt. These are made by Atomic, they are releasing LOTS of new stuff including CF shock towers, CF this and that....

The Ti screws from the Ti kingpin set is a tid bit too long, do not tighten them all the way, else you will be binding your steering as well as the outdrives studs.

...navydoc they are all imports for me too...The japanese importer is ONLY bringing in blue, which i dont like, and is overcharging for them anyway...I get my 3Racing parts off the bay like most of us...

...Scoobie...There is a bushing in each diff...It centers / rolls / pressures the three little wheel thingies...hahaha...You can tell im an expert..lol...Well the bearing on the REAR axle of a Mini Z Monster is EXACTLY the same size...chuck out the bushing, slip in the bearing, crank as TIGHT as you can and BINGO!! Instant smooth diff pleasure...its pretty simple...I just cant remember the size for the bearing...

Bit my hero.....is this the little bushing you're talking about?

If so, I'll pick up a set of Mini-Z Monster Rear axle bearings on my way home later.

:p

Awsome diff mod!!!!

BitHed

...thats the one...pick up THREE...one for the center and one for each end...and dont forget to tell us the measuremement...630? I THINK its smaller but i for some reason I have 630 on the brain...

...Remember it sits ON the three wheels...It helps to keep them IN their slots...it actually wont work on the other side but this will save you time...

BitHed

Just tried searching for the Mini-Z monster rear axle bearings.

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=18512
http://www.toyeast.com/v2/proddetail2.asp?pdtid=A01400605

SIZE: 1.5 x 4 x 2

Can someone confirm if these are the correct size bearings for the H8 diffs? I'm in the office and will pick some up on my way home if those are right.
:D

- 4 x 7 x 2.5 mm , bit isnt that the size of the bearings in the slipper gear? if so that set from toyeast is a steal for 7 beans since u get to bearing up a few pieces in your H8

...umm..840 is the knuckles, 630 is the steering bridge, umm...470? Someone check at Mini-ZRacer.com...Thats owned by the same owner as h8.com...I will know in about 10 minutes though..heading off to the LHS for some giggles...This post of mine has ben HIGHLY unhelpful in know...im sorry...How about checking the Mini Z Monster exploded at KYOSHO?

Where did you get that pic of the carbon steering units from and where can I order it from? I'll test it can't be too expensive.
Thanks

...i reckon cutting those holes so big is fraught with danger...in a decent cartwheel they might just snap...I would have cut the out side bigger...and i PERSONALLY would have preferred a pillow ball with a tail that then got a bolt on the other side...I think the countersunk further weakens the part...just my 2 cents :o

Bit... You know where I can find the steering plate? I know it looks weak but I figured what the heck I'll try it anyways.

highly unrecommend for anyone to dremel there own CF, those particles are so dangerous and once inhaled they are there for good
