since the gearing is so high on this car....i know kyosho makes a 12t and thats the lowest that they make....what other pinions fit without modification on the STOCK motor shaft?

PS: is that second gear on the stock pinion needed? (the outer one..that makes it look like a 2 speed clutchbell..on the pinion..not the spur)

that "outer gear" is not a gear... it's all just one long pinion so that there is a place to put the mounting grub screw w/o interfering with the spur gear

as far as stock motor shaft... I don't know... I'm using an AON with an HPI pinion

akura2, can you be more specific as to what pinion that is? :)

I just looked around for a pinion at my house and came across a 13T...it fit... I mounted it

but I think it's just an HPI steel pinion... it's dark grey/black ...13T (the "13" is imprinted on the end of the pinion with the 1 and the 3 on opposite sides of the hole)

you have to use kyosho or duratrax pinions for the stock half8 motors. Most hobbyshops do not have those.

atomic also has pinions for 400 motors ;)

..... or use an adapter for 1/8 bore pinion to 2.3mm shaft diameter for the speed 400.
