Hi again! :)
I have just received 2 8-cell packs from Mirage called MeanGreen Power (9,6V/1050 mAh). Seem to work fine, but I'm a bit concerned about the runnig time. I can only drive for about 10 min (or less) if I really push the car hard. The surface is hard sand or asphalt.
Have i bought the wrong things or is this the actual running time. I mean, time flies when you are having fun. :)
Thanks!

Hi salvorhardin,
Are you running with a stock motor?
I'm using some Sanyo nimh AA 2,500mah batteries with the Kyosho X-speed and my runtime is over 30mn (rough driving).

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm running on 6 cells (but I don't think it would make a difference on runtime; only the voltage).

6 vs 8 cells make sa huge difference. When you increase the voltage (more cells) you also increase the amp draw of the motor so you decrease run time. Mini-devil your cells have double the capacity of salvorhardin plus you are pulling less amps.

Ok...
So, what then are the advantages with 8-cell? What is the point of having them? :)

As far as I was always taught if you increase the voltage you lower the current draw...

Only one good reason, faster.

So how does the stock set-up work with a 8 cell 9.6 pack? Is it close to the RC18T? Or do you hae to upgrade the motor to reach the equivilant of the RC18T.
its faster and i think it increases runtime

It seems like my charger is broken. I'm having it replaced and hope to get back soon on the performance on stock setup and the 8-cells.

Cool thanks, still thinking about the x-speed motor or some other motor just not sure which way to go!
Might just go brushless sounds like it is wicked!
