I knew it'd be dead in here so figured I'd post regarding my new Mini parts on the way.. The stupidity was that I grabbed the aluminum racing exhaust & blue cooling head. :p Also snagged 3R blue shock towers & some stuff, as well as the parts needed to swap to ST suspension/rims. Am currently winning a few parts on Ebay as well. Will post pics eventually when time allows. :) Also, it's doubtful, but I may have a lead on the aluminum backplate for the engine as well.

tth, it may be dead right now, but hopefully the new Type 5 will bring some new blood to the forums; let's see some pics of your upgraded 09 in the mean time, and, just as a reminder, let us know if there's anything you can't find and we'll do what we can to track it down for you! Thanks! :)

A reply! Type-5 huh, I need to look this up. Got most of the parts on, need to get some pics! (been too lazy to install the aluminum steering kit)

Re: parts.. can you guys get Atomic shock springs? They're on Ebay but the place's combined shipping policy is a joke, (considering the size & weight of a few sets of springs). Shipping on soft/med/hard, front & rear, was quoted around $15, postal.

Just confirmed: while we're out of the Sirio Mini Inferno 09 Alloy Back Plate (http://shop.tinyrc.com/product.php?productid=18659) at present, we can get you one no problem if you still need it! :)

i just got my first mini inferno 09 yesterday and loving it! only thing that happened was my half eight start box lasted all but 10 seconds then started smoking now it wont go :( and i really want to know if the ST wheels will fit on the 09 buggy and not disturb the turning radius etc, cant wait to see your build tth will these springs fit on the 09? http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=6716&cat_name=MINI%20INFERNO i dunno if thats for the electric or nitro, or if the shocks are the same diameter anyway, thanks guys

If it started smoking I'm guessing the belt is/was slipping for some reason? In any case, there's not much to these starter boxes so it should be an easy diagnosis/repair.

About the ST rims/tires, like I just posted in the other thread, it's a no-go on buggy arms. You gotta swap over to ST arms & everything that goes with them.

Yeah, those springs will fit, and nope, no difference in shock diameter between nitro & electric. :)

For buggy rims, I prefer the 5+ spoked ones they have over @ thetoyz.com. There are some others you can make fit, and kits that allow the use of 1.9" sedan wheels etc, but the selection for proper rims is lacking. Maybe the Type-5 will help out there, who knows. I've been told GPM's aluminum rims bend, so to steer clear of those for anything but sitting on a shelf. Haven't had a chance to run her yet, but expect the handling & stability to have been greatly improved since moving up to the ST parts. Unfortunately there's literally NO selection for them - just the stock style in a few different shades I believe. (spoked remind me of oldschool Inferno days, back when they were just a pipedream that wasn't old enough to smoke!) At the moment I've actually got 2 nicely modified .09's, one with the ST arms/tires, one without, (both with buggy bodies, as I'm not a fan of the truggy look). The "buggy's" partially torn down atm & I still haven't found my cameras special USB cable though, lol. (it may go up on Ebay at some point) Oh, and np. :)
