I am looking to buy the alum hop up exhaust pipe in place of the plastic one but wanted to know if it makes any hp gains? Did anyone try this yet if so your feedback or review would be great. Also what does the alum back plate hop up plug do over the stock does anyone have info????

I would all so like to know about the pipe. If you are talking about the backing plate for the engine I think it is just eye candy. .

It probably provides a bit of extra cooling too. The review in RC Mini says the pipe provided the biggest boost in power. Anybody have a really good source for 09 parts?

The best place I found so far is Nitro House but they do not carry the pipe. The only place I have found the pipe so far is on Kyosho site and it is around $75 to $80.

Just took my 09 for a spin the first time I ran it since break in and I hope I am wrong but I think I blew both my diffs out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, is it worth the trouble getting the racing pipe? Somebody must have tried it by now :-)

Well, never would spend $56 for a pipe for a .09 motor anyways. This little Picco rips without a hop-up pipe. Just lean out the motor a little. Wish it had a high speed and a low speed adjustment. Sorry, couldn't help.

Thx for the reply Jerry. Here in Denmark the price of the racing pipe is more than half the price of a new engine (or 1/6 of the entire RTR package!), so I didn't think it was worth it. The "picco" you're talking about, is it the 0.5 engine on Ebay you're referring to? Does it really match the Sirio 0.9 engine? ANd does it fit the Half8 directly, or do I have to make some changes to make it fit? *I was rather thinking of putting a 0.12 engine in it, if I could find one that would fit :-).

Good luck fitting a .12 in there. Even if you could, I'd be worried about the gears holding up. I think the Sirio .09 is a rocket for this mini....

Dont know if it's possible, but the price for the sorio .09 is way off here in Denmark (Actaul price is $170...) A race bred .12 is only half that..... leaves room for some spare gears :-)

Before people buy an exhaust system they sometimes prefer to look at exhaust system reviews before making their final decision on which type they wish to purchase. Making that decision isn't always easy.
