Heat sink $12.00
MX-3 $100.00
2 sets of 6 cell Batteries $44.00

That's probably true. Here is a hint:

Two 3-cell LiPos: $160.00+
--(but I can also use the LiPos in my M18 as well as the Triton Charger, Triton thermal sensor, Novak N-Power Supply, Ultra Deans Connections, Deans Racing Solder, and Weller Solder Station).
JR XS3 & RS300: $200+
--(but I can use the radio with something else. Of course, I could always switch over to the more expensive T3PK I own $300+).
HiTec HS-5125MG servo: $80.00
Mamba-25 Speed Control and CM2080 8000 Kv motor (x2): @$250.00
Mamba motor heat sink: ? Go with someone else's price.
AON Brushless motor (freebee so I can't list a price on that one)
Team Trinity Pinon Gears (4 pack): @$20.00
Robinson Pinion Gears x 2: @$10.00 (Just picked those up last night).
Oil Shocks: @60.00
Bearings: @15.00
Homemade Carbon Fiber front shock tower: My sweat since chassis free.
Gasoline to and from the track and local hobby shops: $2.50 per gallon.
TNB Servo Photos: Priceless. LOL.

Then there is the price of the buggy itself. Should I also include the trip to RCX?

Hey TNB, My son and I are going to Disneyland the week of RCX. We plan on being there all day sunday, gotta race at KZ on Saturday. Maybe I will see you there. I won't know it of course but I will say hi to everyone I see just in case :D

Hawk,
I'm not sure what time I'll be there on Saturday since I may run Kyosho Mini-Zs at NetZone in Rialto first (but that shouldn't matter to you if you are at KZ or at Disneyland--make sure to stop by Critter Country). Are you running 1/5th scale at KZ? I've thought about running there too, but I just never have done it since I hardly ever run my 1/5th scale (or my 1/4 scale for that matter and there is a 1/4 scale track nearby). Anyway, I should be at RCX on Sunday. For sure, I'll be at the RCP Tracks/Kyosho booth, the AON booth, and the Nomadio booth (which is near the RCP Track booth). I may try and avoid the FG booth since I don't need another large scale car.

adrenalinrush123998,
Actually, I have some custom made shirts that have TNB on them with a photo of Bennie. However, who knows what I'll be wearing when I go to RCX. It could also be a Corvette shirt. Maybe, I'll just wear a Kyosho hat, a Ferrari hat or a Mini-Z-Racer hat.

TNB,
Saturday we will be running MP777 1/8 buggy. I just need to try out their track. If you see me Sunday, I will be wearing a Harley Davidson tee shirt or Hollister Bike Week tee shirt and a Harley hat. That used to be my number one hobby, now it's the little cars and dirt tracks.
I want to try 1/10 scale drag racing next , then boats. 1/5 scale, hmmmm, doesn't somebody make a 2wd buggy in 1/5 or 1/6?
:o

Forget that--Go FG ( http://www.molzermoweryracing.com ).

Hawk,
I could never image "Finding" someone wearing a Harley shirt or hat around here since there are too many people who wear them. I even own a Harley shirt with a tiger on it. ;) If you see me, just point yourself out to me. :)

Regarding the larger scale buggies, FG is not listed to exhibit at RCX this year, so perhaps the US Distributor based in California is not attending (I linked the other US Distributor's website above). It's too bad since the show specials are usually dealer price which would save hundreds. Traxxas is listed on the RCX website, but I heard rumor that they were not exhibiting this year. Duratrax also has their version, the Firehammer. Besides the FG Marder, FG also has a MT with a 4WD option and of course, FG's race version F1 is :D

Megatech makes a RTR dragster (Dark Thunder http://www.megatech.com/product_detail_surface.php?ID=7810 ) and has 1/10th scale funny cars (Afterburner).

The boat I like is the 1/8 scale Ms. Bud since it runs on a gasoline/oil mix like the FGs (not to be confused with the smaller 1/12th scale Ms. Bud nitro version). http://www.rchobbies.org/budweiser-boat.htm

traxxas is not the best for racing but their 6th scale buggy is totaly different. But that Duratrax thing is a serious joke...

I know about the Traxxas buggy. I've seen them numerous times and even tried to talk someone out of purchasing three of them. The last I knew he was selling all three of them. Although I never drove the Traxxas version, I have ran the FG Marder. I also own a Traxxas T-Ma$$ and FG Sportline Sedan. Anyone what to trade for an FG F1? Hydraulic brakes perferred.

By the way, did that HobbyTownUSA you worked at ever sell FG? Or just the Hobbico/Great Planes/Tower sales versions, i.e. Traxxas and Duratraxx? I have yet to see the Duratraxx Firehammer or the XTM version in person. However, just prior to the release of the XTM, the local HobbyPeople personnel couldn't tell me if it had a rebadged Zenoah engine or not.

The engines--Usually the Komatsu Zenoah. http://www.zenoah.net
Could it be that KZ Raceway originally got its name from Komatsu Zenoah? I always wondered that but always forget to ask. By the way, isn't it now Sun Valley Speedway: http://www.kzspeedway.com I believe the same FG Distributorship also changed hands to become VS ModelSport at http://www.vsmodelsport.com/home.html

Do you have an issue with Zenoa engines or just the hobby people that don't know their product. I have used several Zenoa engines in other applications and had positive experiences with them.

TNB

I don't have any issues with Zenoah and my post shouldn't have come across as though I did since I simply mentioned that most of the engines are made by Zenoah. As a mater of fact, I have a Zenoah in my WCM 1/4 scale. And although my FG 1/5th scale has a Solo engine, FG usually ships with a Zenoah.

However, I don't like salespersons who try to sell items that they don't know anything about and those who only try to sell you something else since they don't have a particular item requested in stock. Consequently, if anyone attempts to sell me a high dollar item, pre-release or not, they should at least be able to answer a simple question and to me, asking about the brand of engine shipped in a high dollar R/C is a simple question.
