Yes, you can recharge the 12V car battery. In fact, everytime a car moves, it recharge the 12V battery itself.

So, it can be recharged it by asking any REAL Automobile Shop. Most shops have the equipment to recharge the 12V battery. If you know them well, it can be a free service.

Something like this? That's the Triton charging the Optima. ;)

How much is it? It is for charging "external" 12V batt. from an "in-car" 12V, correct?

Make sure you started the car engine before you charge the external 12V. Or the external 12V will drain the in-car 12V

Start the car engine? The Triton was charging the battery in the Corvette since it would not start.

Below is a link to Tower Hobbies regarding the Triton Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-Ion, Li-Po, Lead Acid charger.

Think about this... What happen when you left your car's headlights on over night and drained the car v12 battery?

The garage will either replace a new car batt. for you (to rip you off) or re-charge it for you.

So... do you think they can or cannot recharge your v12 batt.? :D

If you bring your RC charger with you, you can even recharge your batt in a public toilet. :p

They could probably charge it for you. What standard household voltage do you use?

There is also an inexpensive wall charger that I use to charge my 12v starter box battery which will do the same thing over night. I can't recall the brand off hand and I am not at home, but Tower probably sells it for less than $10.00 USD and it attaches with alligator clips. I also use my 1/8th scale starter box to run my tire truer though I haven't trued any 1/12th scale tires in a long time.

In the photo above, the Triton was hooked up to a Novak N-Power supply which was plugged into a wall--I just wanted to see if it would charge the battery since I hadn't started the car in a month and the car alarm ran down the battery.

He must have left his lights on for days. I run an Optima in my car and have left my head lights on overnight..those batteries are monsters! x.x

I guess you didn't read my posts--No, I did NOT leave the lights on. It was the car alarm (or actually car alarms) that ran down the battery since I hadn't started the car in about one month.

If you haven't started the car for a long time. The batt. will eventually lose its power with or without any electronic things on.

I didnt see that in your post. Anyhow Optima batteries are no joke..Ive left my car sitting for more than a month and the thing started up like a champ. Granted I dont have any doodads running when its off. But i guess power consumption varies from alarm to alarm.

Or in my car's case, alarms. Some people I know use a quick disconnect on their battery, but that would defeat the purpose of the alarms. It's no biggy anyway since the Corvette is now stored in a garage since my SUV is now my daily driver--more room to haul R/Cs around too. By the way, if I didn't like Optima (yellow top anyway), I would have never went to the hassle of installing that battery which is a chore in itself to install since one body panel has to be removed and another one loosened. I also disconnected the cruise control.

Bithed my man, I would suggest buying a power supply converter for your DC charger. That what most of the guys use here at the tracks. It converts the AC power to 12V. Something like this (http://shopping.rcmodel.hk/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=1039).

I have been using it with a Ko Propo BX-212 (http://www.hobbytek.co.kr/image/KO50003.jpg) charger and it works awsome.

:)
