can't seem to find much info on ground clearance.

i recently picked up a new Academy SB Sport, motor not even installed yet...
and i'm wondering how the half8 performs in comparison to a full size 4wd buggy...and whether i should sell the SB to fund a H8

main thing, does the H8 have enough ground clearance to clear rocks/dirt on something like a BMX track? no space to make my own track so i make do with what i can find...i can't really tell from the gallery pics how rough the track surfaces are...

I've been running on concrete (driveway, parking lots, curbs), asphalt (street), one of the local 1/8th scale tracks, and on the following rocks which are much rougher than the local 1/8th scale tracks. The red rocks are smaller than the gray rocks and one of the photos does show some of the red rocks mixed into the gray rocks. However, a stock buggy will probably have some serious lack of power issues on the following types of surface.

TNB, thanks for the pics!
does the H8 run as well as a 1/8scale on those surfaces?

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to sell my SB Sport...
was going to put in my spare brushless in the SB, but i suppose if i sell
them both, i may almost have enough for a H8 with brushless combo
think the H8 can be optioned up enough to handle rough surfaces as well as a 1/8 scale?

just read 5x8's post about selling his 1/10 buggy for an h8 as well...
i've read through most of the posts here, but am still unsure about the comparison to 1/10 scale buggy's...

if the h8 can do everything, or most everything a 1/10 buggy can do...
i'm leaning more towards the h8

I don't believe that the typical Kyosho Mini-Inferno will ever handle as well as an 1/8th scale buggy (or at least the buggy I own) on a typical off-road track or "harsh" bashing. After all, the Mini-Inferno is half the size of an 1/8th scale, a lot lighter, and the clearance "is" a lot lower.

You can't expect much from a micro car if you are running on harsh terrain. I would have to say the best micros for the job would be the half8 or the mini quake though. I have had both but prefer the H8 because of scale looks. I run mine offroad at a construction site (houses) and it does very well.
