I'm running stock class, so I'll prolly use like a X-Speed or Graupner. I want an ESC with lots of adjustability. Any one that you guys recommend?

Make sure it will handle 8 cells if you are going to run it that way. Most mini ESC's will only handle 6 or 7. That said, a guy at my local track is runniing his stock motored ST on 8 cells with a Novak micro GT, but he never runs it more than 5~6 minutes at a time. It gets pretty hot which is why he only runs it to race, but so far so good after several months of doing it.

Forgot this info a while ago.

The only ESC's I know of that are rated for 8 cells are the Quantum competition 3 and the Quantum micro 2. The comp 3 can be set up with a low voltage cutoff for running li-po cells and from the tech specs looks like a very nice esc, but it's pricey at over $160 on tower. The micro 2 looks like it would also be a very nice esc, but it's a micro specific unit and will not allow you to run low turn mods if using 8 cells. Both are forward only units, no reverse in either one, but you can't use reverse when racing anyway so it's not that big a deal.

I use a BL-Racer in my MISTy. It is only rated for 6-7 but handles 8 cells just fine. It never even gets warm to the touch after running battery packs back to back.

Where can we get some info on the BL-Racer?? We are talking about a spec class here this winter, but the holdup is an ESC that doesn't cost so much that will handle 8 cells.

I've been running a VR4 with my Xspeed motor and only the motor gets hot with 8 cells. Bought it from Ascubie, thanks again bro for the esc. :D
It's fast and reverse is quick to kick in too for those emergency back ups.

You should look for an old Tekin. I'm sure they will suit you just fine. I know their old skool stuff can handle like 12 cells and almost all old ones have no motor limit.
