Hello!
I'm newb with all these things and was wondering what good NiMH AA's I can use for my Mini Inferno and what is its run time.
I was also wanting to know if you can use NiMH batteries for the Mini Inferno's transmitter?
Help would be appreciated.

Hello
In my opinion the best 2/3 AA you can use are GP 1100mAh... you can buy pre-made battery pack or follow one of the guides (for example check http://mini-inferno.over-blog.com) to build your own pack.
Of course you can find other good batteries, for example check UnitedRC website, they are offering good batteries at a very competitive price.
Runtime... well with stock motor I think you can reach 20-30min, while with more powerful motors you can run your H8 for 10-15min.
I always use GP NiMh (2300 or the new 2500mAh) batteries also for transmitter...

Get this battery back from http://www.unitedrc.com/ It's good battery pack and will give your Mini Inferno a big boost in performance.

UnitedRC is really a good source for battery packs... if you like, they can also provide 8cell pack (waiting for mine :) )

...driftology...stay away from AA's...Go with the United RC pack or a pack from Team Helotes...putting AA's in the H8 is like trying to cook an omelet by rubbing your hands together...Just not enough OOMPH :D

if you are still messing with regular AA batts you are missing out on a ton of performance

Yes... if you want a long runtime you can choose regular AA batteries (2300-2500mAh), but they can't provide the same current the 2/3AA do... so the max speed could be very lower.
That's the reason why we chose 2/3AA

We are using in our infernos 2/3A, exactly the Pn Racing batteries, that has 1250mAh. With that batts we keep a good performance about 18 minutes...

Motor get very hot, but if you have good care of it (oil, clean, etc.) you will have no trouble...

For the transmitter, of course, NIMH batteries with 2500mAh.
