Wow I was so happy when it showed up on the front door. Ripped the box open and looked it over. Bitchen looking little buggy.

But once I plugged in the batteries I was no longer happy. This thing is very slow and a peace of $hit. At least mine is…..What is that ticking sound?

So I decided to do all the mods. Slipper clutch fix, lube the diffs, wheel bearings and oil filled shocks. But as I was taking it apart I notice a couple of $hity things

For one the plastic dog bones are warped real badly. The front rubs against the chasse brace. I think it will break after a couple of runs because it rubbing so badly. When you run the car you can hear it hitting the chasse brace. Oh that’s what that ticking sound is. The rear one is almost as bad. I am going to try to boil them in water to see if they will straighten out.

Second, the gear that meshes with the pinion gear is warped. I guess it’s called the spur gear I think. You can feel how tight the gear mesh gets when you move the gears with your thumb. I don’t know how I will fix that one.

I think once I get those things fixed and get a better motor I will be happy. Here are some pics. Enjoy…..

The reason why this thing is slow, can you believe they put high performance motor on there.

At what rate should I charge these 1.5a or 2a?

Ya I am going to have to order some of that gum :) It was good stuff. Also thanks for the shocks. People are right when they say it's the best thing you can do for your half8.

Also thanks for making it easy to order. Great customer service and got the stuff quick too.

7amps! Yeah they will cook! x.x..You should never charge a pack like that at any more than 3 amps. Infact i dont charge mine at anymore than 2. Oh yeah and nice pack URC. And we told you Abuser...If your looking for easy speed then stick with the B4. This is definatly a car you gotta work with...Welcome to the world of Micros.

the steering slop can be fixed by tightening the servo saver (in the manual it tells you to tighten it the wrong way..be careful of this)

MAN!!!! it sounds like you got one helluva dud there........

and the rear dogbones arent plastic....at least mine arent (i dont think...)

...Titanium dogbones will eb available very soon, waiting on third-party universals...I might change the gum for May, might go with No-Time gum that brushes your teeth for you or something else just as exciting ;)

...Speaking of the B4 I have recently started thinking about setting up the new TAMIYA GravelHound as a basher...Not get the kit but do it from the ground up with third-party stuff...Just doesnt make sense for me to pin my hopes on another import...its easier to stay local...
