Just purchased a Mini ST. Would like to know what people are using as upgraded batteries for the truck.

United RC has a pack but it looks like you only put it on one side of the vehicle. Seems to me that the would knock the ballance off.

What saddle pack are out there? Who makes them?

Thank you,
K

I run a United RC Race 42s, which is a saddle pack. a pack name with an 's' suffix shows that its a saddle pack

hi :)

I have been using an intellect saddle pack without a regulator for about 5 months till it blew my stock electronics last week. Despite many saying that the regulator is not needed, i saw otherwise. The pack blew my ESC and stock servo and when I brought the whole thing to the shop, it smoked the owner's stock test car right in front of my eyes (or nose really).
Maybe tis is a case of lemon batteries but ... just my 2 cents

What is the stock ESC rated for 8 cells or or 6? If rated for 8 I would return it to Kyosho for a replacement.

I don't know 6 or 8 but kyosho recommends the voltage regulator to help prolong the life of the batteries. I like the car a lot but it really is driving me nuts. I keep blowing things on it. After the failed stock esc, I got the nanodragon esc and 3-wire servo. Cheap and it works great (fingers crossed) on the intellect 1200 8 cells but when i put the kyosho regulator in, my regulator gets blown.

You really don't need the regulator, I think thats there to get more runtime, correct? But anyway, you're the only guy I know that uses it :D

Hi guys!

I've taken a look at the following 2 battery packs on Tower:

1) Integy Intellect 1200 7.2V 6C Stick Pack:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLFX4&P=M

2) Integy Intellect 1400 6-Cell 7.2V Stick Pack:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMUE3&P=0

Are the types of batteries different? (one is C, the other is 2/3A??)

Their prices are the same: $18.39.
Which one is better?

KMI's use 2/3 cell's, but not in a stick pack format, so unfortunately neither is right for you Half 8.

I'm currently using an E-flite 3cell LiPO, but I think I'm gonna get a 8 cell saddle pack for her.
