Hi,

I have a battery with this on it "Half8, SP Battery, 9.6v-11Ni-MH".

I am just wondering what may have happened to the battery. It charged fine many times. But it will no longer take a charge. I know my charger works, as it charges other batteries fine.

Is it possible to:

1. Drain the battery to much?
2. Damage the battery with a hard hit while in the buggy?
3. A battery will only recharge so many times?

Thanks for any help or advice.

1. Yes, if you drain a Ni-MH too far (or Lipo, for that matter) it will mess up. Ni-MH go into whats call negative charge, which makes it not accept any charge what-so-ever.

2. Yes. Cant really explaining anything on this, but yeah. :P

3. Yes, but the better you treat your batteries, the longer they will last.

So does that mean my battery is dead, as in junk if I discharged it to much? I usually run down the battery till the motor wont go anymore. Would it have been better to recharge as soon as the buggy slows.

I let someone drive and they hit a curb at full speed (4 year old who usually does great, and a uncle who did the same thing a minute earlier). Since after that run, the battery wont charge.

So between discharging to much, hitting the curb, and quick charging a couple of times a day, it is most likely my battery is done for.

Thanks for the info.

hmm... You might of knocked a battery bar out... Did the battery fall out or anything? Try to rip the heat shrink off the battery pack (NOT EACH CELL!) and see if it ripped off any cells from the battery bars.

If you have access to a multimeter, try to check if it has any voltage. if not, probably one of the cells disconnected.
