Motor stays cool, but its under geared right now. These wacko metric 48 pitch pinions are hard to come by. The K4 need a 16 or somthing..the stock fourteen winds out after 5 or 10 feet.

Yeah acsubie told me about the pinion gears being metric....Kyosho always gotta be different then the other companies.

BitHed
04-18-2005, 04:21 AM
...juju...the H8 hex will fit onto the 18T pin the SAME as the H8 so you CAN use H8 rims on the 18T but ONLY if you have the hex...Rims and the hex's are sold seperatley so you end up having to get TWO different items...PanicToys WILL be stocking H8 rims AND hex's in a set for the 18T crowd :D

BitHed, just to clear something up. So I buy the Itsy Hex Adaptor, install it inside the H8 (without any modification) and then I can install 1:10 buggy wheels (i.e. Tamiya)? So the size of the hex is same as H8 but the diameter of the hole is 4mm instead of 3mm?

BitHed

Thats correct...The Trinity unit has a 3mm hole on the inside and a 4mm axle bolt extension that fits right into a 4mm hole, and fills up, a regular 1:10 rim :) Pretty schweet...Its pretty much the usual way of doing it and CAW, TOBEE CRAFT etc are all pretty much the same...There is ONE oher way of doing it though ;)

WhoMe,

Is the stock axle a bit short for the 1/10 wheels?

Thanks..

WhoMe,

the locknut will thread to the nylon part, other wheels might allow more, but since they is a tiny gap between the hex and hub youy can really tighten down alot without worrying about binding

...although my setup is slightly differenet I still came up against the 'short Axle' problem...U uesd a shalllow nut, shoerter than stock even...This setup means i cant use flanged nuts anymore...

well, but will the 1/100 wheels be too much for the mininferno??

Ninja
04-23-2005, 11:22 AM
if i understand correctly, the wheels are the same size, the difference is the hex mount in the wheel

jatetu
04-23-2005, 11:26 AM
Sorry, i mean, too much wheels, very big wheels for the mininferno. 1/10 wheels.

...1:10 rims are a few mm taller, tire choice makes them too big but some radials work good..i do love WhoMe's tire selection though...The H8 hex is a mutant...its silly and i dont know why they did it...but trim it and it fits the 12mm 1:10 PERFECTLY...no real problems with gearing etc with the bigger wheels...

Dunno why they make it mutant? Simple, they want you to buy ONLY Kyosho hop-ups / parts / tires / wheels... in simple wordings, Kyosho wants your money!!! :D

Hi WhoMe,

I really love the wheels and tires you have on your H8! And guess what, I want to use the very same setting on mine... So please allow me to ask you a few questions to make sure I get it right:

1- TIRES:
I guess you have used the HPI Pirelli T Rally Tire 26mm as offered by Tower Hobbies?
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXCYT2&P=7

By the way, did you get them in 'D' or 'S' compound (soft or hard)? Do they work fine on dirt, and will they wear fast?

2- WHEELS:
I love that type of wheels but couldn't find them anywhere. What brand and model are they, and where did you find 'em?

Thanks!
