Do I need to modify anything to fit this?

Thanks

No mods needed. You just need a regular 1/10th scale pinion. I run 17T.

Thanks BB.

So I can't use the kyosho supplied but can pick up a 1/10th scale at any hobby shop right?

correct. the shaft on the Align is bigger than MI stock pinion. Align uses standard 10th scale pinions (48 Pitch) - so you have a much wider choice. I use Robinson Racing pinions.

Silly question, this is all quite new to me, but do I need to do anything to connect the motor to the esc? I keep hearing about Deans connectors......

I don't know about the Align, but most brushless motors come with three gold twisted connectors, which is fine. The Deans connectors are used on the battery and the speed control.

wreckless is correct. Deans are used on the battery. Your Align has a red, blue and black wire - each with a gold bullitt connector. Your Brushless speed control (Mamba, Tekin Mini age or Quark) will also have 3 wires with bullitt connectors. They motor wires are not necessairly color coded to the ESC. You cannot harm the motor or the ESC by plugging it in wrong. If the car runs in reverse when it should run forward - simply swap any two wires.

Thanks people.

So let me see if I've got this right. Motor to ESC is bullet. ESC to reciver is standard plug? Battery to ESC is deans? Servo to Reciver is standard plug? Any thing I've missed?

Gears are NOT 48dp. I tried several 1/10pinions and I am now waiting to use a .6module pinion by Tamiya. I also contacted Atomic to see if they can make 48dp slipperspurgears instead of the "Kyosho"pitch so we have a wider range.
