What is everyone doing about the center of their drivetrain?

I couldn't, for the life of me, get my slipper to stop slipping (AON 4900) so I put a rubber oring in there, which basically locked it down, which gave me direct drive, no slippage at all, up until the point the rear diff stripped :-D

KM-RC has that new idea comming out, but it's 120 dollars, and I don't like the chassis, not enough room on it. Km-Rc (http://www.km-rc.com/oscommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=34_22_27&products_id=52&osCsid=77c5dd8cc2115f822b2cb20dcf62e4a8)

Atomic makes metal slipper gears with some sort of red washer (maybe phenolic? idk) to go in between. No idea if that works.

3racing makes the ball center diff(which looks like, to me, to have aluminum pressure plates, which seems like a very bad idea) which would make it so I could lock the original slipper down, and use the 3racing center diff as my slipper, right? Will that work?

What should I do? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Chris

...they originally said Mid-May - but my guess it will be in June. Based upon all of their other items, my guess is that it will be top-notch.

Here is a link (you have to scroll down):

I personally would not recommend the Atomic center diff. The 3Racing is supposed to be better (from what I have read) - but has some drawbacks (some people have been modifying the center screw to prevent diff loosening). Personally, I would look at using the slipper for slippage and a ball diff for diff action (you really don't want a ball diff to be slipping regularly).

As far as the slipper - I put in a rubber washer and it works great (slips some and is adjustable to the point of no slippage).

I had some atomic gears - they work, but I don't see any advantage.

Good Luck - sb
