Dear all,

how is the x-speed (or the rocket 400) compared with the cheapest decent brushless with a 6 gp1100 battery pack?

I would like to go for a chep brushless but I'm not sure it is worthed.

Thanks,
active

xspeed is slow, go rocket 400 or speed 400. Brushless will be MUCH faster but I still recommend buying an 8 dollar motor first, to see if that will satisfy your speed craving.

Do i need to change anything else , if i upgrade to rocket 400 ?
(i have already 9.6V battery pack from kyosho).

I never did. The motor will get hot and most likely the esc too so try to allow as much airflow as possible over both.

What I would like is just to be faster (at least for 5 minutes: my gp1100 life) than a Savage with 3speed and 4.6 engine.

Past sunday I was playing in a park and this guy came with his monster (between parentesis I had a savage with a picco .26...I think electric is more funny with less pains). He was having fun with me and In few words next time we will meet I have to smoke him...'whatever is the price' (not exactly :)

One thing I'm finding funny of this hobby is that when you are in nitro everyone does electric conversion (I saw some brushless savage that are FAST) and when you are in electric everyone wants to convert to nitro (see h8 nitro)...but this is another post!

Anyway...ciao,

you will need brushless to run with that kind of setup. Actually, I am not sure if brushless will do the trick. a 3 speed savage with that motor should be able to smoke tons of stuff. You need a 3 cell brushless setup ;)

Can you use the Rocket 400 without changing the electronics? Or is the x-speed max?
Or is there perhaps even a brushless motor you can use with the stock electronics?

Also, how much faster will it be with a rocket 400 compared to x-speed running at 9.6V

no, brushless requires a brushless esc, therefor you need new esc, rx and servo.

...That is so true...I want an EP HellFire or MT2 :D I prefer making things EP as i know more how EP works than GP...A 'conversion' is the ULTIMATE project i think

I feel ya. The 1.8th truggies are awsome but still nitro grrr.

maybe you should get CAW to make a flat chassis ;)
