Hi,

I just visited the Bishop website and saw the Align 430L 3550KV for the MI. Now I saw a 430L 4050KV (http://cgi.ebay.nl/KX850136A-430L-Brushless-Motor-4050KV_W0QQitemZ6053103222QQcategoryZ2563QQssPageN ameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) which spins faster. Will it be ok for the MI with my Mamba25 esc? I tried to run my mamba 8000kv with 8cells but I am not statisfied with it its speed running a 11teeth pinion. It is too small and less torue which results in failing it max rpm. :(

This topic has been read 15times and nobody knows an answer? I also read the topic about the AON 4900. Seems to be the motor for the MI or is the Hyperion6000 better. I need a brushless which has torque AND high speed and runtimes for more than 5 minutes with my GMAXX 1200mah 8cell packs. DRUMZ PLEAZE :p !!!

go with the wraith 7k. The motor is very controllable. A kmi st owner running aon tried my car and confirmed this.

Mr. I have the align 3550kv too and I like it a lot. I have only ran it with a 12t and chewed up slipper gear, but it was nice. It didnt have a very high speed, but great low end torque and would be great for a small track with lots of turns.

unlimted,

first off morati knows what he is talking about.

Second - I have a hyperion 6000 on 8 cells IB1200s. If you want to boil water off your motor - get the hyperion 6000. IT GETS EXTREMELY HOT.
I dont know of anyone whose hyperion 6000 does not overheat - I say forget that one.

Now - I am running the Align 430L 4050 and I love it. I run 17t pinion. Enough torque for me and lots of top end with 17T. I have also run a 20T pinion - but you cannot get the gear cover to fit. Best of all - I cannot get the temp over 115 degrees. My hyperion used to run at 200+ degrees.

I cant speak for the Aon 4900. You can get the Align at www.rcgrand and they have 10% off right now - which puts it at about $39-$40 - CHEAP. They sent me an email (which I deleted) - but when you buy - I think you type in spsale (for spring sale).

Thanks guys for your comments. Morati what speeds are we talking about? 50mph or 50mph+ with 8cells. Runtime with 1200mah? Anybody has a small movie of their MI with Align 4050? I think I'm going for the Align. The cooler the motor the better it performs. As for the holes maybe it is possible to put foam endbell protectors like we used several years ago on our 540 motors for offroadracing, if they are still available

You could make a foam endbell protector out of the foam that comes inside of the nice box you get when you buy an Align motor. :) :p
