I am lookin for a good brushless system for my half eight. I dont want a mamba because I have already had one and it got too hot for me. I will be running it on a indoor carpet track.I was looking mainly at the Aon motor but the Align motor looked good also.I was just wonderin which one is a better motor for carpet racin and wont get too hot.

Also if anyone knows if someone makes foam tires for the halfeight please post somehting here.

Thanks Justin

which mamba do you have?? if you dont like the mamba then id say the hyperion 5000/6000 of the AON. the hyperion6000 would be great if you had more straits. the 5000/AON would be good for tighter tracks

im running the mamba 5400 with no problems. my only drawback is that i want a little more speed. ill probobly just gear up but i think the 6800 would work great for me. id just get the AON with heatsinks and sell your mamba.

ok so the Aon 4900 will be a good motor for carpet racin the tracks i will be raicn is a carpet oval and carpet road course. Will the Aon have any heat problems i know it will get hot but i dont want it in the 200 range thats way too hot for me.

young gun,

I can't speak for the AON as I have never had one - but dont get the Hyperion 6000 unless you want to use it to boil water after a 3 minute run.

The Align has not heat problems at all - I run 17T and Berm runs 22T or 23T with no heat problems. However, it is not as fast as the Hyperion 6000. Since you are running on carpet - you dont really need the gear cover - so you can go to a pinion larger than 17T to pick up some top end.

Thanks bbking9 I have not yet decided whether to get the Align or Aon because both motors look like a good running motor. Thanks for your input.

i just got the bishop power Wraith7 with the quark and it seems to have more torque then the aon. I was only able to run it straight since my steering is out, but so far so good.
