...Yup she fotographed well...I will get some more topless shots for y'all but you have to be over 18 to view them ;)

...The motor is the AON 5800L (http://www.aonelectric.com/Products/BrushlessMotors/Killer/killer.html?Category=Killer) It FREAKIN' FLIES!!! As a result I have had to adjust the stock settings just to keep the power on the floor and to settle her at speed...you wil not believe this motor...It will make you giggle

...You there...Skiny one in the tights...Yeah you can see :D

...This is the motor WITH the sink...I have the one WITHOUT the sink...takes regular 1:10 size pinions too :D (beaming proud father smile)

...ESC is the regular old MAMBA ESC...Gets warm enough to roast a chicken but it just works so damn good!!

man how does that thing run ?
How much faster is it then a half 8 with the 4900 :D
Allso can you take a picture with it next to the mini inferno
Im thinking this just may be my next buggy ? (since the last i heard the nitro mini inferno wont be coming out till sep-oct)

man how does that thing run ?
How much faster is it then a half 8 with the 4900 :D

...it is geared MUCH higher so it doesnt really compute...The DI brushed is faster than the MinFerno to start with but the 5800L REALLY delivers the goods...I mean here is a brushless '540', that you can run with the MAMBA 25 esc...how easy is that? And if your esc is velcroed you vcan just pull it out of one car, switch models on your TX and you are good to go

...I am working on getting video of it running...i think you will just laugh when you see it...Its EXTREMELY satisfying :D

...Rustler do you mean the buggy or the AON? You can get the motor from AON direct and you should be able to get the buggy kit locally pretty soon...TAMIYA USA has them listed for release in May sometime...

...Here is a review from elsewhere on the net directed to me from my similar buggy thread on EZILLACOMM...it makes for an interesting read...

http://www.rctech.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2277467&postcount=31607

...i am not really interested in more mindless comparisons of vehicles...Had enough of that for a while  You will like whichever car you like and I have no intention of persuading anyone to buy anything  This thread was just meant as a rolling review of the car as it progressed :o Besides I didnt want a buggy that cost as much as the ZX5  Plus I wanted to participate in the local 'Only TAMIYA Allowed' races held locally...

I would say the ZX5 is a pure racer and the DI is more of a basher/racer. The prices reflect this.

So Bit, is that a 540 motor? Im getting either a xxx-4 or a b4 and im trying a suitable brushless so far im thinking novak gtb velocity 6.5 but this aon sounds very interesting and very cheap. Whats the torque like?

...I have been modding the Impact for a little bit and I have just about got it right for what i want right now and with the items available for it...

...The Mamba 25 ESC is getting REALLY hot...I changed the throttle curve and the timing / start power yesterday because i was mostly just spinning out if i throttled too quickly but that has got a litle better with the programming change...Also running the bigger spur and still the 36T pinion :(

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/bithed/DARK%20IMPACT/MAMBA25ONE.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/bithed/DARK%20IMPACT/MAMBA25ONETHROTTLE.jpg

...Right now I am pretty maxxed out RE: buying power because i am doing parts etc for the Impact and the E-Zilla too so i cant get another esc but i am thinking about something from Mtroniks...AON ELECTRIC, the maker of the motor, recommends something closer to 80 amps to run the motor and still stay cool...The Mamba is a 25 amp unit and it just cant cope with the power being put through it...It isnt a BAD unit, it is just not designed for the position that i have put it in...

...The 5800 kv motor on the other hand is just unbelieveable :D It has torque and top end to SPARE...Right now the car is extremely hard to control both in corners AND a straight line but it is alot of fun trying to get the settings right...Basically you could say that this motor is TOO much for this car...even with the smaller pinion and bigger spur...I HIGHLY recommend the motor but i would say go with another esc designed for a 1:10 situation...OR you might be like me and just patiently waiting for the Mamba Max to show up...

MudCow it is a 400/480 motor with a 540 adaptor plate on it...LMK when you get your machine up and running and i will send you my 'lender'...

I have put in a new MAIN GEAR from a local third party maker and it is milky smooth...I have one more on ebay in blue...The same company is also going to release some one piece bevel gears, the one that takes the long drive shaft, later this week so they will go in over the weekend...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/bithed/DARK%20IMPACT/P1020003.jpg

...I have put boots on the rear shocks and changed the whole screw set over to black steel hex heads from YOKOMO...I will have some screw sets available soon too...

Hiya Bithead, you say that the esc gets hot but how hot are we talking here? Do you think that running two fans and a heatsink on the esc would cool it down? I basically just want to be able to run the mamba 25 esc till i can afford a better one.
Does the aon come with that adapter plate?
Oh and what do you mean by "lender"? I should have a buggy up and running by the end of May, it will either be a losi xxx-4 graphite plus or a factory team B4.

Thanks, Jon

...MudCow its this one but without the heat sink around the middle; hence the 'lite' label...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/bithed/DARK%20IMPACT/K28155800-Motor-6.jpg

...A fanned heat sink would help...I have already melted / expanded off the heat shrink...I am looking at wiring a fan into the on off switch wires, because they are free, just tied together, because there is no switch anymore...OR you use one of the 3 RACING fanned sinks, which we use on our E-Zillas, either attached to the 540 sink or something rigged like this...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/bithed/EZILLA/P1020029.jpg

...a fan is definately the next step until I can get a Mamba max which suddenly looks MUCH closer The 5800 WILL work with the 25 but the ESC WILL also get very hot...BTW very hot is burnie burnie hot...Do not touch burnnie burnie...Havnt tempted it yet but will do on my next day off...

...The 'lender' :D What I mean is if you want I will send you a motor to play with in your new vehicle to see if you like it... I send it, you try it out, you send it back...I return your 500 USD deposit ;) LMK and we can work something out...
