You will need an ESC.. Because you won't be able to use the stock ESC for two reasons:

-it's not just an ESC, it's a reciever/esc combo. Which means there's no servo leads/plugs for a separate reciever.
-the stock servo is four wires. You won't be able to hook up your 81mg.

I guess you're also undecided about the batteries.. Well that depends which ESC you get. Many people run a 8cell pack with an ESC that specs max of 7cells, with no problems.. But I run only 7 intellect 1200mah with my Futaba MC230CR..

So you'll need an ESC, and batteries.. I'm sure you'll have a blast with that Rocket400

Hello Tech25,

I'm wondering about the brushless motor you advise to use in the Mini Inferno...isn't it too fast or has too much torque for the H8 gears/dogbones/diffs?

I ask that as a comparision 'cause I already have a RC18T and I had to change all the diffs and CVD's because mine simply melted or broke. Is it the same kind of problem?

thanks for your advice!

Hey moose I just saw your reply...I like brushed better but Im a bit worried about the speed on track. What setting is good? What is your setting?

Thanks for the help

Well the bl motors work well in the Half8 unlike the mini lst. Diffs last for some time with a little grease. I have installed the mini inferno st sealed diffs so i could tune the slip. As for the dog bones they dont last as long like 5-9 packs. But remember all things race will erase.

this is a pic of my bl setup before i installed my lot of other parts. which include: TI dogbones, TI turnbuckles, 3R center diff bulk, 3R front shock tower, 3R rear shock tower, 3R wing mount, 3R swaybars, 3R rear hub, 3R steering block, Boca bearing set, Polo digi servo, and i have a dx3 on the way. http://image60.webshots.com/60/3/63/74/2198363740086019057HXKTHb_ph.jpg

Hey lex,
The front shock tower is a must. with the stock shock tower when you flip and hit the dirt right it just snaps in half. I then would replace the front steering blocks. The threads for the kingpins just come out of the steering block on a front impact. I replaced my wing mount because my plastic one was ready to fall off after the second into rail flip. :D

YA i would have a couple extra plastic front control hubs in handy because i allready broke one.The weird thing is i never knew till i looked at it???
You could go alloy but remember for a race setup added wheight in the rotational mass and gross mass in the suspension is detramental to performance :D

just remember when you replace a plastic part with a stronger component. Now the new part doesnt break....the next weakest link will.

just replace everything with full alloy of w/e color ud like...then brushless it with the fastest one u can find....and then put a 3 cell lipo battery and there u go....u can complain that it still dont work haha...for nesecary thing grab yourself a front shock tower...alloy steering setup in the front...block and c hub that is...and a pitbull from bithed cuz thatll take out chassis flex and reduce problems like stripped or fastly worn out gears...but thats not a rly necesary thing...good luck and happy racing...

thx for the input iw ill upgrade my mi soon..
i will start to looking those stuff, because from where i come it is hard to find those parts.. because mi is not so popular here... i'm curious why???

i decided to go with brush motor, because my budget is tight.. i need a lot money for my 1/8 and 1/10.. so i will wait until mini inferno is popular in indonesia...

thx.. i still waiting for another input.. :)
