Hey guys,im thinking of setting up my ST to run on 4cell lithiums,as i havethree Thunder power prolite 2100 mah packs i use on my heli that i would like to utilise on my st!
Im planning to go brushless with a mega motor,4900 rpv and a Mamba esc.
I do not want all top end but good punch so i will have to gear down alot i guess???
Just curious to see if anuone else has tried 4 cell??

that would be just dangerous. I haven't tried a 4cell but I think a 4900kv motor is a little much for that kind of voltage. I would look into something a little lower in the 3k range.

Yeah i think you are right!
Also i just checked and the mamba is only rated up to 3 cell liths so the built in bec would prob not cope!!
Maybe i will use my Flight power uk 3cell 1800 mah pack??
Whats your thoughts on that?

get a quark 33 esc and you can go to a 5 cell lipo :D (yikes...)
Your 3 cell 1800 pack what is the discharge rate? You want a pack than discharge 15-20c.....

The Aon 4900 with a 4 cell can handle up to a 12-13 tooth pinion. It has rediculous torque, but the topend is just awsome.
My 3 cell with 16 tooth pinion is absolutely more than enough. The H8 is not a Mini-T.

Hey,the Flight power packs are 20c,and the 4cell packs are 15c so they should handle the amp draw??
I have looked at the Quark and it looks good, are they better than the Mamba?

The quark does boats, planes, cars, and everything else.
The mamba hooks up to the computer, which I love! =)
