They will do alright, but the outdrives are super weak. The best replacement is the kyosho cups. They are holding up MUCH better than the 3Racing titanium cups, and they were about the same price.

You need to make sure your gear it propperly (11 tooth seemed to work great for me on an 8 cell), and you need to be certain your gear mesh is perfect. Otherwise the hyperion will eat up your slipper very quickly.

Remember you need 2mm shaft pinions (I use HPI pinions), and grease the diffs propperly.

The hyperion 6000 is one bad mama jama. When I finally get my pitbull in, I'm going to give it a try on a 10 tooth with 11.1v lipo. It should be insane. I'm going to reserve judgement on the Aon (who am I to judge anyway), until I get a bigger pinion. This thing is pretty rad though. We will see.

Im not sure if this the correct section,if not please move the thread.

Here it goes Im about to buy a mamba/hyperion6000kv since the only hop-ups i have in my half8 are bearings, oils shocks and atomic motor mount, I wonder if gears and diffs will handle the power of hyperion,so my question is what should I replace before upgrade to brushless system?

Cheers

Thanks for the hints pimpsmurf.Ill wait for 3R diffs instead of buying atomic ones and just buy diff cups now.
Which lube do you guys use for stock diffs?I just have AE silicone gear lube.

Hey

Im using team AE 12T pinion, motor gets a little hotter with this one,top speed is great and good aceleration.Running time are around 12-15min on 8 GP1100.
I may try 11T instead,I will lose a bit top speed but it will run cooler,I hope.

I cant seem to find the AE pinions anywhere so with regards to the HPI micro pinions Pimpsmurf is this what you're talking about.
