After try a six cell nimh AA and a two cell lipo, there is a conclusion: lipo sure.

Well, now, where is the place to fit the lipo pack into the car?, not enought space in the original batt place.

Second, the lipo weight much less than AA, so the load balance of the car is lost.

What do you think, guys?

(sorry for my english)

I used a 3-cell LiPo.

Would you be kind enough to show few more photos on how you setup your Lipo batt? I cannot see them clearly in that photo.

Also, please tell us more about your electronic spec. (i.e. ESC, Rx, motor...)

Thanks! :)

I plan to use 2 2cell lipo 1320's wired in parallel for balance. should have a little runtime with 2640mah!

I thought about that but I already had a 3-cell Lipo and the receiver fit in the battery department. I also figured that a "centered" cell would be balanced though the COG may be slightly higher.

Hey TNB, what is the capacity of that 3 cell?

Tnb, perhaps yours is the only left to right balanced configuration possible. The problem i see is that the weight is clearly front balanced.

Moose, i have two LiPo cells form thunder power and didn't fit in the original batt area. How are you going to do this?.

Hey TNB, what is the capacity of that 3 cell?
1900mAH if I recall correctly. Here is the link to Thunder Power's website where you can view the specs on quite a few batteries. There was also a 3-cell which was the same size but had less mAH and less voltage; however, there are probably some with more mAH and more voltage which are the same size by now.

Sorry, dumb question: Wouldn't the Lipo be too strong for the ESC?

What brand and model of ESC are you using?

I'm running a Mamba-25 and the CM2080 8000Kv brushless motor. I actually just purchased another Competiton X Package tonight.

Edit: I also previously posted the following information on this thread.

Although I don't know how many volts the stock receiver/esc will handle, I am using a Triton charger to charge my LiPos. It also charges LiOns, Lead, NiCD and NiMH.

We offer a 1660mah 2s2p and 3s2p pack for the H8. the fit is perfect, and gives you long long runtimes.

I was planning on using Thunder Power 3s2p 730's as their slightly larger cells don't fit nicely but yours maybe an option for a few extra mAh...

How much runtime? My single 11.1v 3-cell isn't lasting as long as I would like.... Did I miss your 2ps in the LiPo section on your website? Is the shop here going to sell them and what is the cost and/or price difference between the two websites?

Now thats a question i also would like to have an answer on since i am thinking about getting some LiPo packs for myself.
Price and run time... ASP which means FAST Eheheheheh

What about a 4-cell LiPo? I don't mean like a two 2-cell saddle pack.

They do 4s 1320 TP packs and 4s 2000 TP Prolites here TP Packs (http://www.tppacks.com/products.asp?cat=13) unless you mean 2s2p?

I knew Thunder Power made 4-cells (14.8v). Ironically, Thunder Power is located here in Las Vegas and locals can't purchase direct and since they can't purchase direct, one is forced to go through the LHS or online elsewhere. Of course, the LHS don't stock 4-cells and usually don't have the best prices.

Myself, I also like to view the products first and make sure they actually would fit in what I am using it for and not end up like some I've known. For example, I was in one of the LHS when some guy returned complaining about the LiPo he was sold didn't fit a helicopter he purchased at the same store--then they sold him some extension so that the LiPo would fit.

I probably should hold off for a while anyway since I am still using the Mamba-25 in order to wait and see if someone else I know who is using a 4-cell fries his speed control; however, I can always price things now and at RCX.

I bought these from BPP -Product ID: d_#TP730_11.1
Product Name: Thunder Power 730 11.1v Li-poly Pack
Quantity: 2
I also have Deans ultras to Y it into a 2p3s. They should fit in the stock battery locations just fine and I will have a 1460Mah setup.
Oh, this is for the Mamba CM2080 I also picked up. The heat sink and usb cable are on the way too.
I am going to use a Futaba 9650 digital mini servo with either a Spektrum receiver or maybe a RS310 (they have high frame rate on them too) for response.
So far so good.

I was considering putting the electronics in the saddle areas the batteries used to go in and put a bigger single lipo pack where the electrics are stock. This saddle pack arrangement should work out well. I will let you know.
We are racing the MP777SP1 Saturday at Antioch so maybe we can get some big track run time in on the Mini too. :D

I was using the CM2080 with a heat sink, but am now running the AON T2415 without a heat sink. It's a little slower, but the temps seem to be lower. I also got more run time too but I'm sure part of that was because I lowered the pinion gear from a 16T to a 14T. I also used a Thunder Power 1900 mah Li-Polymer 3 Cell 11.1V battery pack and a JR RS300 receiver. I've thought about switching the receiver over to a Futaba, but that is only because I like my T3PK better than my JR XS3.

TNB,
Where do you put the battery? Sorry if you posted pix and I didn't see them. Did you move the electronics and battery locatons. I am settled on the parallel saddle packs for now. I have to work out the pinion and esc programs first. I need some more stuff but things like the alu motor mount and steering knuckles. I don't want to get too serious yet. I wonder about the gears and diffs too. I need some time with it before I know what will work and what won't.
So do you have a pic of your chassis that shows your configuration? I would like to see. I will post pix when the batts get here and the setup.
Thanks

Main thing to be wary of is the low voltage setting on the ESC. don't trust it fully if you as I've killed a 1320mAh 3s Lipo pack with it set to 9.3v. Unless you are running a lot of WOT you won't easily notice the cut :(

Thanks for the warning. I would have missed for sure. I wish it was a nitro car instead but what the heck. Biggest problem I have with the nitro car is I keep hosing the batteries. I am converting from nimhs to lipos now. I am wondering how I can deal with the cut off in the receiver being so low. With the regulator suppling 6 volts and the cutoff for 2 cells near 6 volts, the receiver wouldn't cut off until the lipos are dust.

Hawk,
Check Gallery TNB, Album Kysoho Mini-Inferno for more photos. I also have the timing currently turned down since I was running the CM2080 motor though I haven't tried increasing it with the T2415 motor.
