I like to thank everyone for their support toward fellow drivers and AON brushless motors. Looking at 2006, we are making some final decisions on some of our prototype brushless motors.

So here is a chance for everyone (racers & bashers) to brain storm on features you would like AON or even other motor mfg to include, to add, to eliminate, and to improve. Don't hold back, because it is not going to help yourself to keep all that anger within. If you are shy, you can email me directly at schao@aonelectric.com.

note: we definitely can not incorporte every ideas you guys put up, because we are in the final phase of product testing.

How about doing a brushless motor with the sensor. Personally, I think it would eliminate any of the cogging issues now known to exist in current brushless systems for smaller vehicles. Might be a pain but I think it would eventually pay off big time. :D

id like to see a 6800 kv 300 brushless. sensorless of course.

and with 2.3mm shaft size...

1/8" shafts on an Aon...

sets of 2 Aons that are tested to be extremely close (rpm/v) for my Mini LST

lower RPM high-torque motors... a 4000 26mm can with a metric buttload of torque would be ideal.

And a free BitThong with every order! :eek:

2.3 mm shaft

Why 2.3mm? Why not 2.0mm (for Associated cars) or 1/8in (3.178mm) shaft?

If you ask me, id like to se in the future, not in 2006(to late anyway,but)

A 380 sized 4700-6000Kv sensorless with 2.0 or 3.17 shaft. The 280īs still get verry hot in the heavy Half8 :S.

Its not because of the weight, its the gearing, I had to use the smallest pinion gear without affecting the mesh. I have more torque and I run way cooler than normal.

...This can be done...Though I doubt The Turd would approve ;)

and also don't forget, AON will come with two sets of mounting holes, to cover all applications:
* 2x M2.6 holes@16mm spacing
* 2x M3.0 holes@19mm spacing (actually on AON4900?)

If not, we cannot use your motor on Duratrax vendetta buggies like.

I dont agree with you to 100%, Weight has a lot of do with the heat, BUT gearing is one importend aspect to, not to saythe most importen. Torque is importend for me, but speed is verry to, i dont want to let the one of those 2 suffer...

So, I woud like to se a 380 can 4700-6000Kv motor with 2 o 3.17 shaft thats what i want :)

Thomas, you have contradicting statments in your last post...

Some motor features for 2006 could be a finned motor body, eliminating the need for a Heatsink, or a lower profile heatsink sleeve, a flat spot on the pilot shaft to hold the pinion on better to eliminate filing, most important Specs and application on the outside of the packaging, so I dont have to guess that this motor might work. I know there is but so much you can put on the package, but this probably will help with customers and sales people that do no research and will help your sales and reduce returns. Maybe solder tabs, and different size mounting holes with screws so folks dont use a screw too long which may damage the motor on installation.

No prob Thomas, Im glad you agree with my opinion, you dont have to, its just an opinion, although it is pretty much embedded somwhere in the laws of physics. :)

If you are racing around a track for 5 minutes gearing is so important, you wont know how important it is until you cook an armature or have the back end of your electric buggy burst into flames, both which I have personally experienced before back in 1991 at a ROAR regional when I was lapping in mod A main actually ended up coming in 4th hobbling to the finish...
:(
Back then Real racers built their own electric motors, but thats another story from a long time ago.

Plus, if you find a place to run your buggy where you can run at full top end, then bonus.... :D

Sorry for running away with it...
