Matt,
I have a vision peak ultra and use it to charge LiPos all the time. I run LiPo receiver batts. in my MP777. I charge the xmitter batts (nicad), and glow ignitor (nicad) too. 5min qualifiers on the 1200mAh 2s LiPo takes a couple of minutes to charger after the run. I have used them in fortyfive minute mains and they were still strong at the end of the race. And the charger does them very well.

Personally I like Thunder Power but most of the stuff on United RC (Apogee) and Bishop Power Products are pretty good examples of good (10c) to great (20c) rated cells.
Don't expect them to be cheap because most of the cheap LiPo's I have seen are not worth charging. The manufacturing technology is changing pretty quickly so they are getting better all the time. If they don't make what you need right now, wait a couple of months and it will probably be available.
I have T P 730 mAh packs and a 2100mAh pack that puts out lots of current (all 3s) and the 2100 can run for a long time. I would have a URC 3cell but they are not currently available. They have a saddle pack (3s2p) that can make some amps and a 1570 single that I would use. I would stick with the 11.1v (3cell) because they don't dump the amps a GP1100 does so the added voltage helps.

a 15-20c 2100 sounds good. or i could do 2 1050s in paralell to get the 2100.

Hey Matt,
Im looking for a good charger myself. You know the charger is one item you do not want to be cheap with. The battery packs are not inexpensive so a charger has to be able to do a great job charging.
Right now im leaning towards the duratrax ice.....
The hyperion with cell balancing looks good too....
I want to make the right choice and not have to buy again later.
The lexan charging box is not a good idea. Lexan is a plastic that can burn, melt and give off fumes......You really want something fireproof that can vent....b-p-p has some good earthenware containers.
good luck in your quest for the best charger.....

go ice or go home.....if you race, you will find this charger has options you cannot live without.
if going lipo, get one of the b-p-p battery bunkers...not worth burning your house down because your lipo threw a fit ;)

The new Orion charger is also a good option.
It does lipo's and can step charge Nmh's as well.
The new Xtream RC mag has a comparison artical for Lipo chargers.

the triton is a great charger too(can charge up to 24 cells)...it is geared more to fliers than cars/trucks users. The ice has graphs, a higher discharge rate(10amps), and a motor break in feature. Features more car/truck oriented. You might say I dont need to discharge my batteries....with the graph feature and discharging them it will tell you how the pack is doing.....this way you know which packs to use for racing , bashing , and recycling......It is truly an amazing charger.

I just saw a Team Orion charger. only 2 cell lipo, but it's carbon fiber, does discharge, and a bunch of other features. It's really a nice charger. Backlit display, cycling, motor break-in, AND it has a power supply built in for motor lathes (spelling?)

Also, check this out! http://pfmdistribution.com/secure/shop/category.asp?catid=38

I believe it will fit on a eclipse or pitbull, and it's a 20C 3 cell for $57. That's pretty nice I thought. They are also planning a 800mah 20C that would be decent for side saddle jobs.
