Looks like they've done their homework..... very nice!. I do rate LRP gear. Should be awesome in the Mini Inferno -just what it needs, along with a 9.6v GP1100 pack.

...I hate to say but i think it wont...look at the length of what comes out the bum end of the can...its gonna hi slap bang on the steering upright / support...God i hope im wrong...

i have a 380 size motor sitting right here, with th vented endbell of this Fusion motor they should be about the same size, let me just find my ruler............

mounting surface to tip of endbell length is 42mm on my 370
diameter is 28mm
mounting holes are 16mm apart (8mm from center of armature shaft)

hope this helps you guys, i measured in mm b/c BH uses the metric system and he is the "will it fit" guru. and metric is more accurate too ;)

BINGO!!

Doesnt fit  or does it

...Ninja said..."Mounting surface to tip of endbell length is 42mm on my 370

...Then Bithed said "Stock CAN length only is 37.8mm...including shaft and end bell its 57.0mm...Diameter is 27.7...

wait just a sec there Bit. you measured differently than i did. i measured all the way to the tip of the endbell, measuring just the can comes to (as close as i can see) 38mm. there for the H8 has a 380 size motor, same as the Mini Quake. the Fusion does have a larger endbell, BUT it is a 370 can, not 380 so i would say it is safe to say that it will deffinately fit. the difference between a 370 and 380 is much like the differenct between a 130 (mini-Z size) and a 180. the 180 is the same diameter can, just a tad bit longer.

*edit* just thought of something, the H8 also uses the same size pinion shaft as the Mini Quake, even more reason to assume that the H8 has a 380 size motor :D

...the H8 is 380..the lrp is 370..but 'baby's got BACK!!

i wouldnt worry about that Bit, the LRP can is also going to be nearly 7mm shorter (according to my estimates) so that would cover most of the endbell lengthand just leave a couple of mm sticking out, which the stock 380 has a small protrusion anyways. i would be willing to bet on it, if im right you send me a free H8? and if im wrong i buy the motor from you for my MQ :D j/k Bit, but all jokes aside we will just have to wait for more info from LRP and compare measurements.

I got word from a driver who ran at the Nationals that Team Associated was testing this thing up there. Apparently its got impressive speed and punch but there are still some heat related bugs to work out. He did mention that it was all beta phase gear and that he didnt see them not being able to work it out. And asfar as the size thing goes...I havent measured so i can really say but I figuered with it being a 370 and not a 380 it would fit..even with its big endbell.

Actually I doubt this motor will work in a H8. The motor is the same size as a speed 300 around. However it has a shorter can kinda like the Trinity Micro motors.

This is all from what I've been told. The motors running at nats were just the Reedy motors not this one.

Hey Grafix welcome to the boards! Jeff had mentioned that he saw the AE guys with that motor specifically. He may have been mistaken but he said it was getting so hot that it was melting the bearing right out of the endbell. So I dunno. I havent seen anything myself but it still looks like a nice find. Might be good for the micro or somthing else. But anything would be better than the stocker that Kyosho put in the H8. I still havent been able to make that thing wind up. Need some larger pinions..

From what I have doen so far with the H 8 .. it should fit . I know the pinion size is differt by .3 mm but if you notice the stock pinion is on the motor shaft "backwards" I bolted a Fantom Mini Mod in the H 8 mount and was able to get things to mesh up fine .. but performance wise the Mamba 6800 is where I am at with it now . After a lenghty conversation with one of the guys from Castle and Troy from Bishop Power ...I am gonna stay with their recommendations for the 6800 Kv being the best choice for the Mamba in the H8 ....

...Torn...mate how HOT is the mamba getting? I am SO CLOSE to picking one of these up but i have a K4 coming in the meantime...I have gotten the xspeed VERY hot but is the MAMBA cooking stuff or staying cool and sophisticated?

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLCC4&P=7 It's arrival at Tower is slated for early August. Though Ive gone brushless this thing may still be worth a shot at 18 turns. Thats one turn higher than Trinity's 17 turn 280 and that this is BALLISTIC...so it may be enough to move out the half eight.

I still have my doubts. The stock 400 motor has more torque than the fantom or other 280 motors. It is much more fitting for a smaller car,

WhoMe

This is a 380 or 70 size..its larger size should give it more grunt. Regardless Ill be getting one

cool. Let us know how it works out. But 370's are the same as regular 300's. It just depends on the manufacturer that you buy them from. 380 are the same as 400's.

I was wondering which is faster the stock mini quake motor the stock mini inferno or the stock minizilla motor from what the adds say all these cars have a 380 motor but what runs the fastest in the h8 or is it a waist of time considering the speed 400

by the way I found the Beast T-Rex Dyno Tuned BB Motor at ThePitStop at One18th.com but there is no description on the dimensions it  states that its a great modified motor for the minizilla or the mini quake they are also out of stock I was wondering if any one has tried this motor and if its worth the money at 59.95 USD

thanks for any input

...Mike was worried the Raptor might get too hot and the Stegga might be too long...Be best to ask that question on one18th :o

...The 400 is an easy motor to fit in, cheap and good...It might last forever and ever amen but it will keep you rolling along...

T-Rex will not fit, too long but is a very powerfull motor. Stegga is no longer in production but is a tuned 4.8 groupner motor, so it will fit. It gets very hot as well.
