Finally got my mini-lst today.
Picked up a blue one and I would have to say its one of the best purchases I have made.
I will post picks later but for now, I can tell you that those little motors....ie 7.2 300's...have tons of torque for that truck. Once the center diff is locked, I am sure it would wheelie on demand. top-speed is similar to the rc18t while runtimes are around 15-20 minutes depending on usage. truck runs very smooth along with the plush suspension. I will installing some custom tuned 300's later this week along with the optional locker for the center diff.

I forgot to mention the size, its the biggest micro so far I believe....bigger than the MQ or Half8. Those 300's are awsome for it though. It uses the mini-t differential for the center diff but has new ones for the front and rear. I suppose you would be able to install a ball diff in the truck since the diffs are the same. it also uses the same spur gears as the mini-t and probably some other parts here and there.

a duratrax mini-quake...sorry, forgot to label it :)
the quake is nearly the size of the half eight...maybe a little shorter. The mini-lst is huge for a micro though...I still find it hard to believe that it has so much power with those 300's. I have ordered two Trinity Cobalt 18 motors: they are hand wound, epoxy balanced modified motors specifically designed for micro's. They are 14 turn motors, 300 size so they should be very fast...

The cobalts are 280 sized. But they are far more powerful than any of the 300s Ive run.

Definately going to be fast! =)

I can't wait to hear Troy's brushless experience. Hopefully the hyperion 5000 or aon 4900 will be plenty. I wonder what the total gear ratio on these buggers are...

yep, but 280/300/330/370 all use the same cans. It was these or the 17t termination motors from trinity. I noticed a couple un-named companies have put their stickers on them too ;)
They must be good

Yull like the cobalt for sure. I have one and its ballistic. Im definatly going to see about getting a second for the Mini LST. Im convinced now...Im definatly getting one of these.

P.S.
Oh yeah I had an idea but I dont know if itl work but you can check this out Moose. Ive heard ppl say that the Mini-LST wheels are weak and they crack...Ive been wondering if the hex size on those wheels match the half eight? If so I was thinking it would be cool to run the Half eight ST big wheels and tires on the Mini LST to give it that slammed race monster truck look. I know those arent availible yet but finding out about hex would definatly be neat.

Losi moved away from the hex style wheel on the mini-t, and I'll bet the mini lst just has the bar, and doesn't use a hex. Plus Losi is an american company that (AFAIK) never uses metric parts unless mandated by an outside production company (dynamite engine parts?)

Bearings, shafts, and anything actually engineered by losi will be Imperial/Standard, not metric. =(

Why can we (standards) all just get along?

thats because metric is better....
I mean really.....who measures things in fractions??? thats just stupid.

Who measures things in fractions? most of the world...

"How fast is your new 500 compared to your old 1000cc bike?"
"About half and fast..."

I'm definately down with metric. I think maybe the US should do what England did and ban all measuring devices that use standard units.

Well now that I think of it. It would only be a matter of fitting the half eight hexes onto the LST pins. But I dunno how long those are and all that jazz. Just a thought, hopfully Ill be getting a Mini LST soon.
