Hi guys.. I was wondering if there is such a thing as a mild brushless set-up? I've seen some vids of some awesomely fast brushless cars. But I don't need to go that fast.. What determines the "power" of the brushless set-up?

What I want is speed between stock motor and a lightening brushless. Can this be possible with just a change in brushed motor? Pros, cons?

Thanks guys

mild brushless? try using a 6 cell battery pack on a mamba 5400 with a 10 tooth pinion. If that is still too much power, try a 4 cell. :)

dont go 4cell on mambas unless you use over 1500 mah cells. gp2200 cells are ok to use. the voltage drop when you start moving causes the voltage to drop below the ESCs voltage safety thingy. i am running a mamba 5400 with a 13t pinion and 8 cells and it works great(ESC is messing up at the moment but that is getting fixed). 6cell on the mamba 5400 is good, you could even go to the lower mamba motor if you wanted to but i think once you get the smile factor of brushless you will want to go fasssssst!!

I believe 4 gp1100 cells is fine with the mamba. Understand that adding more cells (in series) doesn't increase the capability of the cells to put out more amperage, but adds to the voltage. If you really wanted to be crazy, you could use a 4x2 setup 8cell (4s2p) which would double your runtime (like 25-30 minutes or so.)

CC tech said that the gp1100 will only work right after a charge and then only for a few minutes. the voltage cant drop below 4.0v i beleive. or the ESC wont run.

OH! I'm with you now. Sorry for sounding like a condesending asshole! haha!

Yeah, even with no voltage cut-off, it will automatically cut off when it doesn't have enough voltage to allow the reciever to function while trying to power the motor. Definately would need a bad ass 4 cell, but 6 cells one a mamba would probably be slow enough ;)

its cool pimpy, i said the same thing to the CC rep... :o i felt sooooooo stupid afterward. o well. but seriously i would run the 5400 with the 6 cell or a 4200 with the 8cell. either of these will be good.

With the Mamba 25 ESC, you can set the curves for throttle and brake and the mode (normal, race, ...) so that makes it milder as well.
