Hi everyone !

I own an kyosho half8, but was really disappointed by the transmission (in stock form).

Having already put a 480BB in it, i was really impressed by its performance, but wanted more. Here is the result :

The parts used for this prototype come from a tamiya 1/10th scale racing car. The original front belt was replaced by a tamiya TA05 one, thus enabling the chassis to be shorten to the half8 size.

This prototype is rolling, and i use now a 4 GP3300 cells packs with a 12 turn 540 size motor. It's really fast, faster than my 480 powered kyosho !

I you want more explanations, you are welcome.

hello,

how.... but.... man.... that is sick!

I recon that the main problem is the weight of the thing... It's 1070 g ready to run, a lot more than the kyosho I believe !

I am entering a indoor buggy race this week end with inferno's, miniT, so i'll let you know if it handles good on the bumps...

But on a flat track, it handles really nicely, and is faster than many 1/10 race cars, only because of the (big) weight gap (1/10 weight about 1500 g)...

...Grosquick if you get this and are still around could you do up a list of the TAMIYA parts you used for this? I would like to get some part numbers so i can see what you actually used...I dont want to do the same as you but it would be interesting to see if there are other options....What diffs did you use for example? I can see the tell-tale outdrives of a TAMIYA unit but i am surprised what you have done...Love it though..great stuff...

Dude... a custom 540 brushless h8 would be impressive! =)

haha! You could have the gear ratio crazy high.

...what blows my mind about this machine is that there are almost ZERO H8 parts on it..I bet this even made some draws, ah sorry, jaws drop at KYOSHO...I want to go and play at Grosquick's work bench....this thing is insane...Maybe i should go back to college and learn 'some stuff'...
