Hey guys.. I ordered a mamba 8000 package for my half8 and or rc18t. I am used to running 1/10 touring cars and use brushed motors.. I break-in(seat the brushes) my brushed motors by putting them in water and attaching a cell to the motor, and it seems to improve the life and performance greatly...

Do i need to break in the mamaba? This question may sounds stupid.. but its my first brushless and I dont want to screw up a brand new motor. Thanks...

break in consists of this, install motor, install your batt(7.2v 8.4v 9.6v whatever) calibrate it and punch it! wait for the smile to come and you are done. but seriously there is no break in. just make shure to watch your temps on the 8000. i would sugest getting 2 heatsinks.

no prob. i run a mamba 5400 and only get slight heat problems like when my batt is low. w/ the 8000 i would think you should realy watch the motor.

hehe, I'm in Canada too and the sucker gets quite hot. :D

Castle Creations told me that you want the motor to run < 200°F, otherwise some bad stuff will happen.
